RedmiBook 14 Laptop Launched Alongside Redmi K20 Series: All You Need To Know
It was earlier confirmed that Redmi will launch another product at the Redmi K20 series launch, and a laptop was suspected. While the laptop’s now been confirmed, and it’s the leaked RedmiBook 14.
Xiaomi separated Redmi early this year to re-launch it as an independent brand.
While the parent brand already has its own set of laptops available, Mi Notebooks, it’s the first for Redmi.
The first Redmi range of laptops, the RedmiBooks are expected to available globally unlike the Mi Notebooks. Already a number of variants of the RedmiBook 14 has been spotted online, hinting at a availability of the new laptop in multiple markets.
Xiaomi India is yet to confirm whether the Redmi laptop will be available in the country or not, but there’s has been a new leak suggesting that the company may launch a new non-smartphone product soon.
RedmiBook 14 Launched: Specs & Features
The Redmi laptop comes with a 14-inch IPS LCD display featuring a Full HD panel. It has been launched with different processors including Intel Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7.
The RedmiBook 14 comes with two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port an HDMI port.
On the other side, the Redmi laptop comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
It’s the first laptop from the newly independent Redmi brand. The RedmiBook 14 runs the 8th generation Intel core i7 processor with NVIDIA GeForce MX250 to support the graphics.
Coming to storage and RAM, the laptop will be available in multiple RAM configurations with upto 8GB of RAM.
As of now, the RedmiBook 14 will up for sale in two different storage variants. The base model will come with 256GB of flash storage, while the top model will have 512GB flash storage.
The processors will differ depending upon the storage configurations. RedmiBook 14 laptop comes with Bluetooth 4.0 support.
The Redmi laptop runs on the latest Windows 10 Home out of the box. There’s a full-size island-style backlit keyboard, similar to Apple laptops. The size is very compact and lightweight with an all aluminium metal design on the out featuring a solid build weighing around 1.3kgs.
RedmiBook 14 Price: Will It Be Available In India?
The RedmiBook 14 starts at Yuan 3,999 (Rs 40,300), going way up to Yuan 4,999 (INR 50,400) for the top model. Starting with the top-end variant, the RedmiBook 14 with 8GB of RAM and 512GB flash storage will cost will cost Yuan 4,999 (INR 50,4000).
The RedmiBook 14 top model will challenge the likes of Apple MacBook Air 2019 and MagicBook from Huawei in China.
The mid-end 256GB variant of the RedmiBook 14 with the Core i5 processor will sell at Yuan 3,999 (Rs 40,300).
Finally, the 512GB RedmiBook 14 model running on Core i5 processor will cost Yuan 4,299 (Rs 43,350).
It’s too early to comment on the India launch. While the chances are very low, the existence of multiple device regurgitations hint at a multi-market availability. If RedmiBook 14 lands in India, it’s going to be the first laptop from Xiaomi in the country.
