Realme 3 Launched: 10 Facts You Should Know About This Budget Beast

Realme has unveiled its Realme 2 processor today, a next-gen budget flagship smartphone backed by some top features. Realme 3 starts at Rs 8,990 for the base model.

The smartphone will be available in two storage models.

As a surprise, the company also confirmed the Realme 3 Pro launch in April. Comparing it with the Redmi Note 7 Pro, Realme CEO Madhav Sheth it’s not only going to be a camera beast, but a speed beast as well, #SpeedAwakens the teaser says.

The smartphone was unveiled today at an event in New Delhi.

New Unibody Design

Realme 3 will come in a new unibody build with a gradient color scheme. Its slim and has a new Realme branding logo at the back, on the left hand lower side of the panel.

Three Amazing Colours

There are three color options to choose from Dynamic Black, Radiant Blue, and Black. All the color options have a gradient finish on the back backed by a unibody built.

Splash & Dust Proof

As a big addition, Realme is also splash and dust-proof, a feature not available on any budget smartphone. Realme 3 will survive accidental splashes and dusty fields.

HD+ Display

Coming to the display, the Realme 3 flaunts a 6.3-inch HD+ panel with a screen resolution of 1520×720 pixels. The HD+ only panel could be a let down for many users.

Dew Drop Notch & Gorilla Glass Protection

The Realme 3 display has a dewdrop notch in a 19.5:9 screen aspect ratio. The company added it has a Corning Gorilla Glass protection, but did reveal the version. Probably it’s Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

12nm Helio P70 Chip

Under the hood, Realme 3 will run on MediaTek Helio P70 SoC clocked at 2.1GHz. The chip has been built on a 12 nm fabrication process able to deliver some top-notch performance with upto 32GB and 64GB storage and can be expanded up to 256GB.

AI Powered Dual Camera Setup

Realme 3 sports a dual-camera setup at the back consisting of a 13-megapixel primary sensor and 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor with support for PDAF fast focusing. Realme 3 supports Nightscape, Hybrid HDR and Portrait mode.

13-Megapixel AI Front Camera

Realme 3 comes with a 13-megapixel AI-backed front camera. The front camera comes with an f/2.0 aperture with support for HDF and AI beautification.

New OS With Android Pie

Coming to the software, the device runs on the latest Android Pie. The company unveiled the new ColorOS 6.0 with upgraded features and stock Android experience.

Massive Battery

The smartphone runs on a massive 4,230mAh battery. There’s no support for fast charging, but Realme 3 can easily run for upto two days on moderate usage and a single charge.

Realme 3: Prices & Availability

Realme 3 is available in two storage variants with 32GB storage and 3GB RAM is priced at Rs 8,999, and the top variant with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM at Rs 10,999.

Realme 3 will be available via Flipkart and Realme’s online store starting from March 12.
