The much-rumoured 48MP Xiaomi phone is finally launching today. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the device will come with a 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor at the back backed by AI capabilities.
President Bin earlier confirmed that the company will launch a device in January with the 48MP Sony sensor.
Several devices has been speculated to be the new Redmi phone, but the actual one is still under the covers. Also Xiaomi recently took out Redmi to launch it as a independent sub-brand under the parent company to focus on budget phones.
48MP Redmi Phone: Things You Need To Know
Xiaomi is all set to launch a new Redmi phone on January 10. The teasers are out, and the device has been confirmed. But incidentally the company is yet to reveal the device. Xiaomi has only confirmed that the unknown Redmi X device will come with a 48MP camera.
Redmi is now a separate brand under Xiaomi, and hence the expectations are high.
The previous rumours say it’s going to be Redmi Pro 2, though some of the other leaks claim that it could also be the Redmi Note 7 or even Redmi 7. Till now we only have an official image from Xiaomi with a device which has a vertically aligned dual-rear camera at its back.
The official picture reveals that the device will boast a 48MP AI dual cameras. The 48MP Redmi phone will launch in China today.
Redmi 48MP Phone: Expected Specifications
Redmi Pro 2 was earlier leaked on Weibo with a couple of posters showing a Xiaomi device with a 48MP camera and a Snapdragon 675 processor. The upcoming 48MP Redmi phone will be priced somewhere around Rs 15,000.
Xiaomi took out Redmi to market it as a budget smartphone brand, so upcoming Redmi smartphones are expected to be value for money devices.
The other two expected devices are Redmi 7 or Redmi Note 7. While the company launched Redmi Note 6 Pro just a couple of months back, and Redmi 6 series a little more than it, the chances of these two are very less.
Xiaomi is still selling Redmi Note 5 Pro in India, while Redmi Note 6 Pro just entered the selling zone. So, Redmi Note 7 with a Pro offering a 48MP dual AI camera may sound likely, but not for now.
