Uber Launches uberVIP Program in Delhi; Offers Riders With Fixed Ride Prices, Top Drivers & No Cancellation Fee
Uber has been known to reward its top rides every now and then starting with loyalty credits launched earlier this year. Now, the company has come up with another such program for top riders in Delhi-NCR.
Taking on Ola Select program, uberVIP will provide specialised offers to its riders in Delhi. A select few riders will have received emails from the company highlighting the offers they will receive as part of the program. At the moment this service is not available in other cities.
Starting 5th June 2017, the uberVIP will be available to select users for the next 2 weeks. Exclusive discounts all the time, top driver partners, no cancellation fee and no subscription fees are key features of this program.
Features of uberVIP
From 5th June onwards, you will be able to see the premium tab with the uberVIP view. You can simply request a ride from this view and enjoy the features of this program. It is available only till 18th June, so make sure you make full use of this service.
Launching first time in India, uberVIP will provide the following features to its users –
- Flat fares for two weeks: All rides requested on the uberVIP view will be capped at ?99 for rides up to 9kms, and ?169 for rides up to 15kms within Delhi NCR. You will be automatically shown these prices and you do not have to enter any promo code for the same. These are also valid if and only if the ride starts and ends in the same coverage area. For example, if the ride starts in Delhi and ends in Gurugram, then it will not be discounted to the rider.
- Top driver-partners – uberVIP unlocks a dedicated VIP request option that connects you with only the top rated driver-partners at no additional cost. These driver partners are those that have a rating of 4.8 and above with a decent drive history.
- No cancellation fee – Usually after waiting for a lot of time, the drivers asks you to cancel your ride, which can destroy the experience. uberVIP does away with any cancellation fee for VIP members.
- No subscription fee – Unlike Ola Select, this service doesn’t have any subscription fee and is available only to the top riders.
We’re not sure if uberVIP cars will always be available to people requesting it, considering the drop in Uber drivers on the road now. There aren’t a lot of drivers with high ratings and not a whole lot of them would be available to you, so might not be able to find your ride on time.
With the low volume of cars on road, this service might not take off as expected. Unless Uber has recently bumped up the incentives for its drivers taking uberVIP requests.

Why is Ola / Uber charging commuters between satellite towns to Delhi 100 Rs on every exit / entry inspite of the fact they buy monthly toll passes at fixed price ? It seems they are trying to cheat customers by overcharging them on name of toll taxes .
