Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime Details Leaked Ahead of Launch!
The Galaxy On7 Prime is a midrange smartphone which is powered by the same processor that powers the Galaxy J7 Prime, the Exynos 7870.
Recently Amazon India confirmed that the new Galaxy On7 Prime will be sold exclusively on their platform. Now Samsung has sent out invites for an upcoming launch event to be held on 17th January and it is most likely going to be the launch of the Galaxy On7 Prime.
Just ahead of its launch, the details of the smartphone have been leaked on GFXBench benchmarking site. Let us take a look at the specifications of the Galaxy On7 Prime and see how it is different from the original On7.
Galaxy On7 Prime – Specifications
The listing on GFXBench has leaked the following specifications and features of the upcoming Galaxy On7 Prime.
The Galaxy On7 Prime will come with a 5.5 inch full HD display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. It will support touch input from 5 fingers at one time.
Under the hood, the On7 Prime will come with a 1.5Ghz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor coupled with Mali -T830 GPU, supported by 3GB of RAM.
The ON7 Prime is expected to pack in a 3300 mAh, non-removable battery.
The On7 Prime will come with 32GB of onboard storage, out of which 25GB will be usable. It can be increased up to 256GB with a memory card.
The smartphone will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box, with the latest TouchWiz UI on top.
The smartphone will feature a 13 megapixel autofocus rear camera coupled with an LED flash. Up front, the device will sport a similar 13 megapixel selfie shooter.
The GFX listing shows that On7 Prime will come with sensors like accelerometer, light sensor and proximity sensor. It will be a dual SIM device with 4G VoLTE, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ GLONASS and a micro USB 2.0 port.
The smartphone will also come with Samsung Pay Mini support which will support instant payments via UPI and other leading mobile wallets.
An earlier listing on Amazon had revealed that the smartphone will come in different memory variants;
- 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage
- 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage
Both variants will support up to 256GB of external storage via a micro SD card slot.
The upcoming Galaxy On7 Prime (2018) will come minor changes like Android 7.1.1 Nougat right out of the box, whereas the previous model had Marshmallow on board.
The upcoming Galaxy On7 Prime will probably be priced somewhere between Rs. 11,999/- and Rs. 14,999/-.
The new Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime (2018) will be up against Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Mi A1, Motorola Moto G5 series and Honor 7X, among others when it is released in the market.
Samsung recently launched their premium midrange smartphone, the Galaxy A8+ (2018), which is slated to go on sale exclusively on Amazon India from 20th January for Rs 32,990/-.
