Wagon R, Celerio, Ignis Brake Can Fail? Maruti Recalls 9,925 Units of Wagon R, Celerio and Ignis
In a regulatory filing by Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the company said that they are recalling 9,925 units of its three models, Wagon R, Celerio and Ignis.
Maruti Suzuki Vehicle Recall
The move is to rectify a possible defect in the rear brake assembly pin.
The carmaker informed that the affected vehicles are manufactured between August 3 and September 1, 2022.
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd said, “It is suspected that there is a possible defect in the rear brake assembly pin (‘Part’), which in a certain case, may break and cause a peculiar noise. There may be a possibility of an impact on brake performance in the long run,” in a filing on BSE.
So, the company has decided to recall the suspected vehicles for inspection and replacement of the faulty part, free of cost considering the safety of customers and out of abundant precaution.
Further adding that the parts for the replacement are being arranged and authorized workshops shall be contacting the customers for attending to their vehicles, as the “necessary repair, if required, will be undertaken post inspection”.
Why Would This Happen?
Elaborating on the subject Maruti Suzuki said,”It is suspected that there is a possible defect in the rear brake assembly pin (‘Part’), which in a certain case, may break and cause a peculiar noise. There may be a possibility of impact on brake performance in the long run. Considering the safety of customers and out of abundant precaution, Company has decided to recall the suspected vehicles for inspection and replacement of the faulty Part, free of cost,” in its BSE filing.
On Friday, Maruti Suzuki standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2022 surged more than four-fold year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 2,062 crore.
Moreover, the carmanufecturere’s revenue for the quarter increased by nearly 46 percent YoY to Rs 29,931 crore.
At the same time, the total sales volume for the quarter was 36 percent higher than the previous year at 517,395 units.
