Price war has been triggered in the Indian telecom sector, and it seems that all users will be forced to pay extra now.
After Airtel announced tariff hike by upto Rs 500, and upto 25% on all plans, Vi (formerly Vodafone) has announced the same.
All existing Vodafone plans are now upto 20-25% expensive, and upto Rs 500 more, compared to old plans.
Now, the big question: Will Reliance Jio follow suit?
Here are the updates..

Just like Airtel, Vodafone too has increased the price of all pre-paid plans, effective November 25, that is a day earlier than Airtel’s price hike.
With this, the minimum recharge on Vi has now become Rs 99, which was Rs 79 earlier.
In case one wants to send SMS, the minimum plan offered by Vodafone is now Rs 179.
For getting 1.5 GB data for 84 days, Vodafone customers will need to pay Rs 719, which is exactly the same as that of Airtel’s new tariff.

Will Reliance Jio Also Increase Tariff?
Both Airtel and Vodafone have increased the tariff to earn more revenues from the users, and then use the money to expand their 4G and 5G network capabilities.
However, it’s still clear whether Reliance Jio will also hike their tariff or not.
Experts are believing that Jio may wait for some more time, before announcing price hike, and the reason is that, Jio is losing a lot of customers.
We recently reported that Jio has lost record 1.9 crore users in 30days, and this is denting their future expansion plans.
If they announce an immediate price hike, then Jio can lose even more customers.
We are still speculating, and nothing official can been announced yet.
We will keep you updated, as more details come in.
