Indian Railways, one of the largest employers in the world, has once again opened up vacancies. And this time there won’t be any interview or written test for the selection. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their scores in the eligibility exam only.

Indian Railways has decided to recruit 492 Apprentice posts in Chittaranjan Locomotive Works. As per the notification, the recruitment process has started for various posts including Machinist, Electrician, Welder, Fitter, Turner, Painter, and AC Mechanic. All interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official website, apprenticeshipindia.org. The last date to apply for Apprentice Recruitment has been notified as 3 October.

Candidates interested in this recruitment should have passed the ITI examination (NCVT) from a recognized institute and should possess certificates in relevant trades. The applicants should also have passed class 10 or equivalent from a recognized board by the Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE).

Application Procedure is as follows:

Step 1: Visit the official website apprenticeshipindia.org.
Step 2 – Login with details like name, mobile number, and date of birth and register yourself
Step 3 – Upload all required documents as required.
Step 4- Download the form and take a printout for future reference.

It should be noted that candidates are not required to appear in any written test or interview/ oral test for selection to any post of Apprentice. Apprentices will be appointed on the basis of the merit list provided on the portal. If and when the candidates are shortlisted for any post, they will be notified about it through a call letter which will be sent to their respective mail id.
