Top 10 IT Firms Hire 1.2 Lakh In 6 Months, Highest In 5 Years: These Jobs In High Demand!
The information technology sector in the country has boomeranged since the past year, as the coronavirus pandemic has accelerated the shift towards the online space.
The demand for new-age digital skills are on an increasing rise and so is the rate of attrition.
With industries all around the globe showing such heavy reliance on technical support and cloud services, job opportunities and hiring in the IT sector is on an uncontrolled spree.
About over 1.21 lakh employees have been hired by the top ten IT companies in India until June 2021. Looking at such high hiring numbers, experts in the domain have predicted that the total number of hirings can reach as high as 2 lakh by the end of this year.
With the hiring and demand getting streamlined, employers are now willing to pay over 50-70% joining hikes, to meet the demand for the right candidate.
6-Month Period for 2021 Sees the Highest Hiring Numbers
The Covid-19 pandemic has truly accelerated the shift of markets online, if anything else. As more and more businesses are turning out to invest into the digital space, the momentum doesn’t seem to fall anytime soon.
The pandemic has led to a double digit revenue growth for the country’s largest IT giants like TCS, Infosys and Wipro.
With the top 10 Indian IT giants hiring about 1.21 lakh employees in the first 6 months of 2021, it is marked as the highest for this period in the past five years, reports Moneycontrol.
The second highest six-month hirings was marked in 2019, when 45,649 employees were added by the top 10 IT companies.
Besides, net hiring too has increased exponentially in the past 5 years, as the employee strength of top 10 IT giants has risen from 10 lakh to 14 lakh in this period, marking a 40% rise.
TCS, Infosys and Wipro employ over two lakh people, while HCL Tech and Tech Mahindra employ 1.76 lakh and 1.26 lakh respectively.
As companies eye for a double digit growth in the current financial year, the hiring numbers will further increase.
Furthermore, there are some job roles in the space that attract more salaries and demand than others.
Job roles like data scientists, full stack engineers, cybersecurity professionals, cloud architects, and artificial intelligence experts are high in demand.
There are lakhs of jobs available for data scientists, adds the wire feed.
According to Teamlease jobs and salary primer report 2020-21, there are roles like quantum machine learning experts that are upcoming that could earn as much as Rs 1.20 lakh per month.
