Did You Know About Jio’s Rs 8/GB Plan? This Is How It Can Help You With Data Usage

The plan is, however, unique since it does not place any daily data restrictions.

Jio recently rolled out a prepaid plan of Rs 597 which provides 75 GB data for 90 days.

Cost Of One GB

This plan is one among five prepaid plans rolled out by the telco, promoting them as “Jio Freedom Plans- Freedom From Daily Limit”.

This means customers basically shell out Rs 7.96 for a single GB.

This is an expensive affair since other telcos have plans which boil down to Rs 5 per GB.

The plan is, however, unique since it does not place any daily data restrictions.

No More Daily Data Limit

Users can either exhaust all of 75 GB of data in a single day or they can choose to use it over the plan duration.

This sets the plan apart from other offerings by different companies which have daily data usage limits.

The other plans which are also free from data limits include those priced at  Rs 127, Rs 247, Rs 447, and Rs 2397 with validities ranging from 15 days to 365 days.

Other Prepaid Plans In Roster

Rs 127 plan offers 12GB data for a validity of 15 days.

Rs 247 plan offers 25 GB data for 30 days.

Rs 447 plan offers 50 GB data for 60 days.

The costliest one, at Rs 2397, has a validity of the entire year with 365 GB of total data.

With these new plans, users can track their daily data usage if they are trying to limit their internet consumption.

‘Emergency’ Data Packs

In another interesting development, Jio has introduced an “Emergency Data Loan” facility.

With this, users can recharge their data plan without paying upfront.

This is useful to those who have exhausted their high speed data limit and cannot recharge immediately.

How It Works

Prepaid users can “borrow” up to five 1 GB emergency data packs costing Rs 11 each.

There is a limit to the number of emergency packs a user can buy, which is 5.

There is no word yet as to the time period within which users will have to pay for the packs.

Users can access the feature from the My Jio app.

It should be noted that the packs cannot be purchased without an active base plan already in place.
