Very soon, Hyundai is planning to upgrade its best-selling SUV in the Indian market, yes we are talking about Creta.
Although the upcoming 2021 Creta is not expected to feature any mechanical changes except the variant-wise equipment list will be updated.
Changes In 2021 Creta
Let’s go through all the changes expected on the soon-to-launch 2021 Hyundai Creta.
The base ‘E’ variant of the Creta will be having the deletion of some of the features including electrically adjustable ORVMs, integrated turn-indicators on the ORVMs, luggage lamp, and the pocket behind the passenger seat.
The reason behind the removal of these features would be to keep the costs in check, although lowering the prices is not expected.
In the case of the ‘EX’ and ‘S’ trims, the SUV will have wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Earlier, these two trim levels only featured wired connectivity for both apps.
Changes In ‘SX’ and ‘SX (O)’ Trims
The features such as remote engine start via smart key, welcome greeting, the soft paint finish on the dashboard, and advanced connectivity features will be added in this model.
Now, the Creta would be getting Over-The-Air (OTA) updates for the BlueLink connected car system, along with additional voice commands.
The latter feature includes showing info of contacts, Points of Interest (POI) search, sports updates, and controlling the driver-side window.
Presently, Hyundai Creta is available with three engine options, which are likely to remain unchanged.
Where, the first option is a 1.5-litre petrol engine, capable of generating 115 PS and 144 Nm.
It provides two transmission choices including – a 6-speed manual and a CVT.
The second option is a 1.5-liter diesel power plant, with 115 PS and 250 Nm.
It can come with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Finally, the last engine option is a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine, which belts out 140 PS and 242 Nm.
Further, it comes with a single gearbox option – a 7-speed DCT.
Apart from this, the paddle shifters are also available on the automatic variants of SX and SX (O) trims (1.5L petrol CVT, 1.5L diesel AT, and 1.4L petrol DCT).
The revision of the price list is also expected with the launch of the 2021 Hyundai Creta.
