Maharashtra Can Impose 15-Day Total Lockdown From This Date; Critical Meeting Will Decide

Maharashtra CM In Favor Of Total Lockdown
On Saturday, a high level meeting was conducted to review the situation of high coronavirus cases in the state. Already more than 50,000 cases are being detected on a daily basis, and everyone is concerned.
As per reports, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is in favor of total lockdown, from Monday, April 12 for the next 15 days.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is expected to have a meeting on Monday to finalise financial packages for those who will be impacted due to the lockdown.
However, no decision has been taken yet. The high level meeting on Sunday will decide that whether Maharashtra will be put under strict lockdown or not.
BJP president Chandrakant Patil said, “Though no formal decision on a lockdown has been taken at the all-party meeting, the chief minister appears to be in favour of a strict lockdown,”
Maharashtra Under Weekend Lockdown As Of Now
Maharashtra has imposed a strict weekend lockdown across the state, to curb the rising number of cases.
On weekends, no shop, office or commercial establishment is allowed to open, except milk shops, and medical shops.
On weekdays, only non-essential shops are allowed to open, that too between 7AM to 6PM. Infact, Section 144 is imposed for entire day to stop crowding.
