All 9 Lakh Govt Staff Of This State Will Get 30% Salary Hike! Retirement Age Increased by 3 Years

On Monday (March 22, 2021), the retirement age for all government employees and teachers has been raised from 58 to 61 by Telangana government. It has also announced 30 per cent fitment for them.

Salary Hike, Increase In Retirement Age & Promotion Process

From April 1, 2021 salary hike will be given to around 9.17 lakh employees and pensioners, including contract and outsourcing employees said CM K Chandrasekhar Rao in a statement in state assembly. Also, the extension of the retirement age was announced.

CM expressed his joy while announcing the 30 per cent fitment which shall be implemented from April 1, 2021.

Since the 11th pay revision was delayed, he said that it was due to the shattered the state’s economy and unexpected fiscal deficit. He added that in the light of recuperating economy the government has revised the pay scale in a manner that it covers all employees and teachers.

Public life in the state came to a standstill and financial activities were also paralysed due to lockdown eventually leading to declined income levels and also a severe financial deficit in the state, said CM.

The salaries of contract employees, outsourcing employees, Home Guards, anganwadis, Asha Workers, Vidya Volunteers, Sarva Siksha Abhiyaan employees, daily wage and other employees have been revised.

The TRS had announced highest fitment of 43 per cent in election manifesto and hence they have announced such a move.

The increase in retirement will not only help the employees to benefit from employment but also enable the government to better utilise the services of experienced employees. The process of promotions as requested by its staff was taken up after deliberations with employees, teachers unions. Almost 80% of promotion process has been completed.

The remaining promotion process will soon be initiated by the government. Post this, every eligible employee will get promotions and also the process of filling these vacancies created by these promotions will be started.

The age limit from 75 years to 70 years for 15 per cent additional quantum of pension to the retired government employees and teachers has also been announced by the government.

Inter-district Transfers & Expected Employee Dedication

Also the process of inter-district transfers to accommodate the spouse of employees and teachers who are working in different districts will be initiates soon, said CM KCR.

As a return, he expressed that the government in turn expects the employees to dedicate themselves in discharging their duties and work with full commitment in public service without any lapses.

Along with retirement benefits, the government decided to give the 12 month arrears to the employees, despite the financial crisis.
