Skoda has finally announced the new Kushaq mid-size SUV in India. A compact SUV that will compete with the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The Vision IN concept at the 2020 Auto Show was a platform where the car was introduced.

The official name was announced by the company in January of this year. It is also the first model which is to be introduced in the company’s India 2.0 product campaign.

These vehicles will be manufactured in India and will be based on the MQB-A0-IN version of Volkswagen Group’s Modular Transverse Toolkit. Skoda Kushaq will be 95 per cent localized in India and the models have been tested for 1.5 million kilometres in India.

“In 2018, we started India Project 2.0. The Indian market offers immense potential market to Skoda. India will soon be the third-largest carmaker in the world by 2026. With this brand new model, we open an all-new chapter in India,” said Thomas, quoting an update from Times of India.
