Old News Repackaged As New
In a statement they said that the news was originally from Mar 22, 2020 when the country was observing Janta Curfew.
It was then that Indian Railways had canceled all trains, and services in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Secunderabad were curtailed.
What Is True?
The Indian Press Information Bureau (PBI) tweeted that not only is the supposed announcement false, it is also misleading and not at all fact-based.
It was further stated that all services will run as per usual and passengers must follow Covid protocols during travel such as mask wearing and social distancing.

The Twitter account was launched in Dec 2019 with aims to pick up widely circulated news and to check whether it is fake or real.
The initiative combats the deluge of fake news being peddled around social media in a bid to manipulate and skew public opinion on political hot topics among others.
The general public is also welcome to send in their own queries which the fact checker will determine the legitimacy of.
IRCTC Yeoman Services Lauded
BJP MP from Bihar, Ram Kripal Yadav, was all praise for Indian Railways which worked hard to send 43 lakh migrant laborers home.
They also gave out 2 crore free food packets and 55,000 lakh litres of drinking water to the needy.
Hundreds of coaches were repurposed to function as healthcare facilities.
Modi Govt A Boost To Indian Railways
The Modi govt was credited with transformation of Indian Railways into a “dynamic development-oriented organisation”.
The erstwhile United Progressive Alliance (UPA) was chided for announcing railways projects which were not in the interest of the country as Modi’s plans did.
It was also mentioned that during his term no states were singled out and there was special focus given to northeastern states and states like West Bengal and Kerala which had opposition parties at the helm.
The Modern Coach Factory in Raebareli which the UPA govt had installed was barely productive as allegedly it had “not produced even a single railway coach” until NDA took office.
Ever since the new administration took charge, 1,500 coaches have been built and some of them were even exported.
