Apple Will Start Making iPhone 12 Series In India Very Soon: Made In India iPhone 12 To Cost Rs 49,999?

Apple will produce a hefty number of devices outside China. India is currently second-largest production base for the iPhone manufacturing. Nikkei Asia reported Apple is planning to start making iPhone 12 series in India by this quarter. Made in India iPhone 12 is also said to start at Rs 49,999, bringing down the production cost and import costs by a sizable margin. 

Previously leaked documents by Brazilian telecom regulator Anatel indicate that some of the iPhone 12 models will be directly manufactured at the Foxconn facilities of India and Brazil.

The iPhone 12 line-up includes four new phones with a Mini model being the latest addition.

The iPhone 12 series starts at Rs 69,900. Apple unveiled four new iPhone 12 phones in different sizes. iPhone 12 mini is the most affordable model in the series. Apple recently also unveiled the latest generation Apple Watch Series 5 and iPad Air at the “Time Flies” event in September.

Apple Will Start Making iPhone 12 Series In India Very Soon

According to a report by Nikkei Asia, Apple is planning to start making the iPhone 12 series in India very soon, probably by this quarter. The Cupertino based tech giant also plans to start the production of iPads in Vietnam as early as the middle of this year. Brazilian telecom regulator Anatel previously leaked out that the upcoming iPhone 12 series in global markets may now be produced in multiple markets. 

The report added Apple will also shift the production base of products like earphones, smart speakers, and computers out of China to other countries as a part of company’s ongoing diversification strategy.

Leaked documents from Anatel also indicate that some of the iPhone 12 models may be directly manufactured in facilities in India and Brazil, and this will bring down the final cost by a substantial margin.

Apple will start with the production of iPhone 12 Pro at Foxconn’s facilities in Brazil and India. The contract manufacturer already has its production running in China.

Apple is currently utilising the Foxconn units in India and Brazil for manufacturing different Apple smartphones as iPhone 11, iPhone SE 2020 and more. The documents also leaked iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 battery capacities.

The leaked certifications confirmed that iPhone 12 Mini packs a 2,227mAh battery, while the iPhone 12 houses a 2,815mAh battery. According to Apple’s official listing, iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro both are rated to deliver 17 hours of video playback time. iPhone 12 Mini can deliver up to 15 hours of video playback on a single charge.

Starting with th3 entry-level iPhone 12 devices. The iPhone 12 budget line-up has two devices. The iPhone 12 Mini comes with a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. In comparison, iPhone 12 features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. respectively. Both the Super Retina XDR OLED displays do not support super-fast 120Hz refresh rates.

Under the hood, both the iPhones iPhones are powered by the company’s A14 Bionic chipset.

The company has claimed that the latest chips will offer improved overall performance and faster machine learning. It dons a next-gen Neural Engine. According to Apple, the A14 Bionic chips are the fastest created till  date offering more power efficiency and faster performance.

Coming to optics, iPhone 12 Mini comes with a dual camera set-up. iPhone 12 Mini cameras include a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens. Similarly, iPhone 12 camera has a dual lens setup. It also comes with a similar dual-camera set-up as the iPhone 12 Mini.

The iPhone 12 Pro comes with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED panel as iPhone 12. The iPhone 12 Pro Max features the biggest panel of the series, it has a 6.7-inch OLED display. The displays support super-fast 120Hz refresh rates. Under the hood, as the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12, they are powered by the A14 Bionic chipset.

Apple has claimed the A14 Bionic brings will ensure that the new iPhone 12 series will be able to run far better in terms of performance per core compared to iPhone 11 series. 

Coming cameras, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max come with a few upgrades compared to the other two iPhones.

iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max has a triple camera set-up with 12-megapixel F1.6 primary camera, a 12-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 12-megapixel ultra wide camera along with a LiDAR sensor. The last upgrade, the iPhone 12 Pro Max comes with a few extra features as improved performance and better professional photography.
