OnePlus fitness tracker has been unveiled in India. Called the OnePlus Band, this new OnePlus wearable has been launched. To take on Mi Band 5 directly, the new OnePlus Band is basically a fitness tracker with some interesting specs on-board. OnePlus Band in India as an Amazon exclusive, to go on sale from January 13 for a price of Rs 2,499.
Can the OnePlus Band beat the best-selling band in the market, the Mi Band 5? Xiaomi currently has the highest market share in India in the wearables market.
OnePlus Band is a smart activity tracker as other smart bands available in the market with some new changes. The fitness tracker has a detachable main unit along with dual-color strap combos.
OnePlus Band vs Mi Band 5: Who Wins?
As OnePlus Band, Mi Band 5 also comes with a 1.1-inch AMOLED touch colour display. The Mi band uses Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity and works with both iOS and Android devices. Mi Band 5 can run up to 14 days on a single charge, similar to the OnePlus Band.
Similarly, OnePlus Band offers 14-days of battery life on a single charge. It has 13 workout modes. OnePlus Health app is now available on Google Play Store.
OnePlus Band comes with a 1.1-inch AMOLED color display. The company has claimed the OnePlus wearable will offer deep contrast and good brightness for better visibility even under direct sunlight. The OnePlus Band offers you to customise watch face and personalise your band on the OnePlus Health app.
The Mi Band 5 has a magnetic charging mechanism, a similar one is expected on the OnePlus Band.
Mi Smart Band 5 offers up to 50M water resistance, same as OnePlus Band. Mi Band 5 has 11 new activity-tracking modes including indoor cycling, rowing, yoga, elliptical, and jump rope exercises. The Mi fitness band also comes with a new mode to track women’s health and menstrual cycle.
In comparison, supported exercise modes on the new OnePlus band include outdoor run, indoor run, fat burn run, outdoor walk, out-door cycling, indoor cycling, elliptical trainer, rowing machine, cricket, badminton, pool swimming, yoga and free training.
OnePlus Band has a dedicated blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitor, a major USP given the price. The blood oxygen sensor measures SpO2 levels by sensing changes in the color of blood with the infrared sensor.
OnePlus Band has the edge here with the all-new SpO2 Blood Saturation Monitoring, a hyped out feature in the time of Coronavirus. Also, the OnePlus fitness band have a few additional activity tracking features.
Then SpO2 levels can also be carried out continuously even while sleeping. OnePlus Band offers real-time heart rate monitoring. You can get all your information from the OnePlus Heath app along with personalized heart-rate alerts. Lastly, OnePlus Band supports 5 ATM waterproofing and IP68 certification.
Mi Band 5 price in India is set at Rs 2,499, available via Amazon India, Mi Online store, and Mi Home stores. OnePlus Band sale starts from January 13 for the same price of Rs 2,499.
