Apple foldable iPhone is said to be finally in development. The foldable iPhone has been a part of the rumour mill for a really long time, and it long rumoured foldable phone, and now there’s a new report suggesting the company is finally working on a foldable phone at the price of iPad mini.
Apple has been slowly moving down the pyramid to target the entry premium segment.
As per the industry experts, Apple is said to be working on a budget-friendly iPhone SE 2021 already, but the launch will happen later in the year. The price being a key factor, the iPhone SE 2021 launch may take place after the iPhone 13 series is unveiled.
iPhone SE 2020 came out in April this year. The device had an iPhone 8 body with an internal hardware of the iPhone 11 with some minor differences at a very strategic pricing. The affordable price tag soon became the major USP, and iPhone SE 2020 sold like hot cakes.
Apple Foldable iPhone: To Replace iPad Mini?
Apple’s foldable iPhone is said to be a mix of iPhone and iPad Mini. The first foldable iPhone is going to be a foldable iPad and will run iPadOS. Apple’s foldable iPhone will have a single continuous display and not two separate display panels.
The first foldable iPhone by Apple may come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Apple foldable iPhone is said to cost $1,499 (Rs 1,12,000) for the base model.
The phone may launch some long time from now, probably will be unveiled in November 2022. Apple recently unveiled new Apple Silicon-based MacBooks. Apple unveiled new versions of MacBook Pro 13-inch, MacBook Air and Mac Mini running on the latest in-house Apple M1 SoC.
Apple announced the M1 chip earlier this year, which will now power the entire Mac product line with ARM-based processors ditching the Intel X86 CPUs.
After the Intel spat, it will for the first time not use the Intel chips in 15 years. The first generation of Apple Silicon processors are called the Apple M1.
The Apple M1 chip features eight cores (four high-power and four power-efficient), a custom integrated GPU, image signal processor, Secure Enclave and a Neural Engine. The Apple M1 chip has been specifically designed with a new unified memory architecture which will help to improve power efficiency, built on a 5nm process.

The upcoming 2021 iPhone SE model will see a few improvements in terms of specifications. Finally, we may see a full-screen display on the new SE phone as the iPhone 12 Mini. The iPhone SE 2021 may have a display notch on top with an edge-to-edge panel as the other latest iPhones.
Coming to availability and launch, the new iPhone SE 2021 will not come in the first half of 2021 as the 2020 predecessor.
As the current iPhone 12 production and launch was delayed, the company will primarily focus on the iPhone 13 series next year. So the production of a new iPhone SE will be a second priority. So, Apple iPhone SE 2021 launch is expected in Q3 2021.
With iPhone 12 Mini, a new model addition to the new generation Apple series, it shows that the company is trying to enter a new budget-friendly space in the entry-premium category. iPhone SE 2021 will be no different. Next year, both iPhone SE 2021 and iPhone 13 Mini will come in the Apple affordable segment.
