Poco F1, Mi A2 users can enjoy Android 11, thanks to custom ROMs. Updated versions of custom ROMs based on Android 11 will be available for both Poco F1 and Xiaomi Mi A2 smartphones soon. Both Poco F1 and Xiaomi Mi A2 will be able to experience Android 11-based custom ROMs.
Custom ROM developers are helping old smartphone users to have the taste of the latest Android features.
MIUI 12 global update for the global and Indian variants is expected to be out in the next 15 days.
Redmi Note 7 MIUI 12 update and Redmi Note 7S MIUI 12 update are expected during the same period. MIUI 12 global update beta with Android 10 update on top will soon be rolled out alongside Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 update and Redmi Note 8T MIUI 12 update.
Android 11 On Poco F1, Mi A2: Custom ROM Finally To Rescue
Older smartphones often are left out when it comes to upgrades due to weak hardware capabilities. But custom ROM developers are helping out users of Poco F1 and Mi A2 to upgrade to Android 11. ReloadedOS from XDA Developer user riteshsaxena is testing out Poco F1 Android 11 software.
So Poco F1 users can upgrade to Android 11 manually. The firmware is based on the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) code with all the key Android 11 features.
Potato Open Source Project (POSP) is helping out Xiaomi Mi A2 with Android 11.
Another XDA Developer forumite called kenny3fcb is testing out a Mi A2 Android 11 custom ROM. Mi A2 came in 2018 and has been a part of the Android One program which guarantees Android version upgrade till next few years.
Do expect bugs on both Poco F1 and Mi A2 at this stage. But they will soon be able to run it smoothly in the final phase. Also make sure you do a complete backup of all your data smartphone before attempting to install the custom build ROM.
