New Poco smartphone has been confirmed in India, it’s Poco M2 Pro or Poco F2 Pro? The company posted a teaser on its official Indian Twitter handle for the upcoming smartphone in the country. The company also committed that the next device will be Made in India.
The teaser says “The next POCO for India, coming soon”.
While we are yet to know which Poco smartphone will come in next, the teaser has officially confirmed the launch of a new Poco device. The next POCO phone in the country could either be recently unveiled Poco F2 Pro or alleged Poco M2 Pro.
New Poco Smartphone Coming To India: New POCO Phone In India
The video confirms the arrival of a new Poco smartphone in the country and the company has also confirmed that they will be committing to the Make in India initiative. The video further adds that Poco will make products and services “crafted for India”.
The company came into existence 2 years ago in Delhi. Currently Poco sells two devices in India: Poco F1 and the recent Poco X2.
The company may unveil Poco X2 Pro next, a toned-up Poco X2, which is a rebranded Redmi K30 4G. Poco M2 Pro is a possibility as well, which is said to be in works already. Poco M2 Pro will probably be powered by the mid-range Qualcomm chipset, Snapdragon 720G.
Poco F2 Pro / Poco X2 Pro: Successor To Poco F1?
Poco F2 Pro has been unveiled in Europe, and the specifications matches up the Redmi K30 Pro. Poco F2 Pro will come with a 6.67-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display with refresh rate of 60Hz. The Poco device is said to be powered by Snapdragon 865 with up to 8GB RAM and 256 storage.
Coming to optics, F2 Pro will come with a quad rear camera setup featuring a 64-megapixel primary lens, a 13-megapixel wide angle lens, a 5-megapixel telephoto lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens.
Poco F2 Pro will have a 20-megapixel pop-up camera upfront, and the device will house a 4,700mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. It will also feature support for NFC, 3.5mm jack input and Wi-Fi 6.
Poco M2 Pro: What We Know So Far!
Poco M2 Pro was spotted with the M2003J6CI model number and the “gram” codename. The upcoming midrange Poco phone will primarily target the sub-15,000 market with top-end features and specifications. The device was spotted on both Wi-Fi Alliance and Bluetooth SIG databases.
Xiaomi recently revived the Poco brand and separated it to relaunch as an independent brand.
Poco X2 was the first smartphone under the new venture after almost one and a half years post Poco F1 from 2018. Poco M2 Pro will be another addition to the mid-range category in the sub-15,000 range.
Coming to the Poco M2 Pro listing, the Bluetooth SIG data confirms that the upcoming Poco phone will run on MUI 11 and comes with Bluetooth v5.0 connectivity. The Declaration ID matches with the Redmi Note 9 series.
On the Wi-Fi Alliance listing, Poco M2 Pro is confirmed to be running on Android 10 with dual-band Wi-Fi. The listing further reveals “gram” kernel as the source name. It’s the same as the Redmi Note 9 Pro. So there’s a possibility that Poco M2 Pro may come as a rebranded Redmi Note 9 series device in India.
