After confirming the launch of a new phone in India running on the latest Snapdragon 700-series chip, Xiaomi has now started to drop teasers to show how the device would look. While the company is yet to confirm the name, but it certainly seems to be Mi A3.
Xiaomi Mi A3 will come with a three camera setup at the back.
The Xiaomi Mi A series runs on the Android One program. Users can enjoy Pixel-like experience on these devices with guaranteed two version upgrades with timely updates.
First Xiaomi Triple Camera Smartphone In India
The Xiaomi Mi A3 is going to be the first Xiaomi phone in India to come with a triple camera set up at the back. Currently in the mid-range segment, only Samsung offers a triple camera setup smartphone, Galaxy M30.
The current teaser directly hints at the presence of three cameras at the back.
Apart from the rear triple camera setup, the teaser also emphasizes on single and dual modules orbiting a planet. It’s the same device from Xiaomi coming to India soon running on the latest Snapdragon 700-series chip.
Xiaomi Mi A3 was previously rumoured to be a Mi 9 SE spin off. And now the three rear camera setup confirms the similarity.
Xiaomi uses its own already launched handsets for Mi A series to let them run on the latest Android One program. The first Mi A1 smartphone was a Mi 5x spin-off while the second generation Mi A2 was a remodelled Mi 6X.
Early this year, Mi 9 SE was being rumoured to come as remodelled Mi A3. The three camera setup confirmation however concretes the claims. The company is yet to drop further details on both features and availability.
Xiaomi Mi A3 & Mi A3 Lite: What’s In The Box?
Apart from the regular Xiaomi Mi A3, the company will also be launching a special toned down model as well, Mi A3 Lite. Last year the company only launched the regular Mi A2 in India, and later brought remodelled Mi A2 Lite as Redmi 6 Pro.
Though, this year the company is expected to launch both the models at the same time in the country.
The last generation Mi A series smartphone was first unveiled in Europe, and later in India. This time Xiaomi will start with India, and later may launch the device globally in other global markets.
Coming to specs, let’s start with the details. The upcoming Xiaomi Mi A3 will come with a glass sandwich built on the out, almost similar to what we have previously seen on Redmi Note 7 or Note 7 Pro.
The smartphone will have an edge to edge dot notch display with slight bezels on the sides and a thin chin down under. If Xiaomi plans to use the same display as Mi 9 SE, Xiaomi Mi A3 will come with a 5.97-inch Super AMOLED display offering a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Xiaomi Mi A3 will run on the latest Snapdragon 730 chip (expected) coupled with 6GB of RAM with upto 128GB storage.
At the back, the handset will feature a triple camera module featuring the 48-megapixel Sony IMX 586 primary sensor. The setup will get a secondary 13-megapixel ultrawide lens and an additional 8-megapixel telephoto lens.
It’s the same camera setup used in the Mi 9 SE smartphone.
The whole package will be backed by a 3,070 mAh battery. Xiaomi Mi A series smartphones do not pack in the signature Redmi 4,000mAh batteries. But there’s no worry, Mi A3 will support 18W fast charging.
