Redmi 7 Coming To India On April 24; Xiaomi 100W Super Charge Turbo Is The Fastest Charger Ever?
Xiaomi has started to tease its recently launched Redmi 7 for the Indian audience. The smartphone will go official in the country on April 24, alongside Redmi Y3.
Redmi 7 already has been unveiled in China last month.
Xiaomi’s 100W Super Charge Turbo fast charging technology is also expected to launch very soon. It’s going to be the fastest wired charging solution on any smartphone ever.
Redmi 7 India Launch On April 24
The popular Redmi budget series will soon be getting its official successor in the country. The seventh generation Redmi smartphone was unveiled in its home country last month, and now the device will go official in India on April 24.
Realme will also be unveiling its much-touted Realme 3 Pro a couple of days before in India.
Xiaomi following up two launches makes the Xiaomi-Realme battle more intense. Realme has been taking a dig at Redmi Note 7 Pro repeatedly by putting Realme 3 Pro on the front seat.
Coming back to Redmi 7 India launch, the smartphone will go official in the country alongside the third generation Y series smartphone, Redmi Y3. Redmi India tweeted that the company has successfully shipped more than 7 million Redmi Y-series smartphones in the country since launch.
The number “7” in the tweet was highlighted with a message “few surprises lined up”.
It has a question at the end “But what’s with 7?”, directly hinting at Redmi 7. So Redmi Y3 and Redmi 7 will launch in India on the same day in the sub-Rs 8,000 price category.
Redmi 7: Specs & Features
Redmi 7 sports a 6.26-inch HD+ display with a notch on top. The smartphone comes with a gradient finish back inside a polycarbonate body. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 632, the smartphone is expected to be available in India in two variants: 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage.
Coming to optics, Redmi 7 comes with a dual rear camera setup featuring a 12-megapixel and 2-megapixel camera combination. Up front, the smartphone comes with a 8-megapixel selfie camera.
The device runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 9 Pie backed by a 4,000mAh. In China, Redmi 7 starts at RMB 699 (around Rs 7,099) for the base model with 16GB storage. That device may launch in India as Redmi 7A, while the other two models may comprise the Redmi 7 series starting at around Rs 8,000.
Xiaomi 100W Super Charge Turbo Commercial Launch Imminent: Report
Xiaomi recently unveiled Super Charge Turbo offering faster charging capabilities at 100W. Its soon going to be the fastest wired charging solution available for any smartphone.
Currently the fastest are Huawei SuperCharge and Oppo VOOC 3.0 offering 55W and 50W charging solutions respectively.
According to a new report by MyDrivers, Xiaomi is close to a commercial release of the 100W Super Charge Turbo.
The company was said to enter mass production by the end of March. While nothing official is out, we have may to wait till early third quarter of the year.
Previously, the Xiaomi 100W Super Charge Turbo was able to charge up a 4,000mAh battery in less that 17 minutes beating Oppo’s VOOC 3.0 fast charging solution by a huge margin.
