Your Whatsapp Can Be Banned Because Of These Apps; Protect Your Whatsapp Now!
Whatsapp won't tolerate any unauthorized apps now.
Whatsapp has been one of the oldest and most popular chatting apps since the beginning of the smartphone era. The app is also facing the consequences of this popularity, as the competition has given birth to apps that are similar to Whatsapp, with names similar to the app. To eliminate these clever copies that hinder competition, Whatsapp has come up with a new rule.
What is this new rule by Whatsapp? Read on to know more!
Whatsapp’s Request to its Users
Whatsapp has started issuing out warnings which ask their users not to use any such apps who seem like variants of Whatsapp but are nothing but mere copies. Some of these clone apps are Whatsapp GB or Whatsapp Plus.
The warning issued by Facebook-owned Whatsapp states that the security of people using such duplicate apps will be at risk as the company will not implement its usual security norms. As per reports, the spokesperson of Whatsapp said, “WhatsApp cares deeply about the safety of our users. To protect the privacy and security of their account, it is strongly recommended that users only download WhatsApp from official app stores or from the website.”
As per reports, Whatsapp has already started deactivating the accounts of the users of such clone apps. The company has also warned people using the clone apps that the chat history of users is not safe and can be deleted. The company has also put up an FAQ guide (Frequently Asked Questions) which enlists all the details about this new rule. Also, the guide has detailed instructions on how to switch to the official app of Whatsapp from the clone apps.
What Should Whatsapp Users Do?
Here is what you should do to avoid getting your account banned:
First and foremost, stop using cloned apps like Whatsapp Plus or Whatsapp GB.
The Whatsapp accounts of people using these apps will be deactivated temporarily. If the user wants to continue using Whatsapp, they will have to download the official version of the app from the play store. Download Whatsapp only from official stores or directly from the website.
Make sure to take backup of the chat history on Whatsapp before downloading the official Whatsapp app. Also, do not forget to delete the cloned apps or APKs from your phone to help tackle any other issue that may arise.
