Xiaomi is India’s number one smartphone brand. While it has been steady in holding it’s spot on top, the Chinese smartphone company now wants to enter the market deep.

Design & Display

Xiaomi Redmi Go will come with a 5-inch HD LCD 16:9 standard display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Redmi Go phone will have a plastic build on the out.

Hardware

The new Xiaomi Android Go phone will be powered by the midrange Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor paired with Adreno 308 GPU.

The chipset can offer a maximum speed up to 1.4Ghz backed by 4x ARM Cortex A53 cores.

RAM & Storage

Just like other Android Go devices, the Xiaomi Redmi Go will come with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The memory can further be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

Software

The Redmi Go phone will run on Android 8.1 Oreo-based on Google’s streamlined Android Go software. Redmi Go will come standard Go apps like Maps Go, YouTube Go and more.

Camera

Redmi Go will come with a single rear sensor. It will feature an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. Up front, Redmi Go will come with a 5MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

Battery

The Redmi Go smartphone will come with a 3,000mAh battery bundled with a 5V1A charger out-of-the-box.

Redmi Go is out in full glory. Redmi Go will look similar to Redmi 5A. It’s going to be a basic low-budget phone, HD display, single camera on both back and front, 1GB RAM and more. The rumours say that Redmi Go will be priced somewhere around Rs 5,000 in India.

Though, as Xiaomi is known to price its smartphones very competitively in India, Redmi Go may cost around Rs 4,000.

The Redmi Go India price is expected between Rs 3,500 to Rs 4,000. Nokia and Samsung failed to pick up with their Android Go phones because of their high prices. If Xiaomi wants it’s Redmi Go to succeed in India, the Redmi Go India price has to very competitive in the entry-level smartphone segment.

Xiaomi India MD Manu Jain recently confirmed that Redmi Note 7 will launch in India with the 48MP camera very soon. Xiaomi is planning to launch three devices up next, which will include Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro and it’s first ever Android Go phone called the Redmi Go.

The recently leaked report says that Xiaomi will launch three Redmi phones under the newly separated brand.

Redmi Go will launch in India by the end of the first quarter of 2019. The Redmi Go India launch may take place as early as February. Along with Redmi Go, we may see Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro launching in the country.
