Flipkart Sellers Complain Of Pending Payments; CAIT Determined To Stop Walmart Deal!

Fresh trouble has brewed for Flipkart, and this time, from their own sellers.

The Confederation of All India Traders or CAIT has already waged a war against Flipkart-Walmart deal, and on that front as well, Flipkart is facing some major issues.

Flipkart Sellers: Where Is Our Payment?

Several leading sellers from Flipkart have complained that their dues are pending since January, and the company is doing nothing to resolve them.

In fact, sellers from Flipkart, Jabong and Myntra have joined, and are collectively complaining against the pending payments.

These sellers have now come out in the open and are venting their ire on social media platforms.

Some of the sellers have complained that their payments are due since January, and the pending amount has not reached lakhs.

Spokespersons for Flipkart, Myntra and Jabong have denied any such pending payments.

Myntra said,

“There is no delay in payments to our sellers. We follow a monthly payment cycle and all dues are settled accordingly subject to checks and reconciliations. Our overall seller NPS has been increasing and we have several initiatives in place to improve their experience further,”

Similar thoughts were shared by the spokesperson for Flipkart.

All India Online Vendors Association (AIOVA) has supported the sellers, and have promised to launch a major agitation if the payments are not settled.

CAIT Files Plea Against Flipkart With CCI

Meanwhile, CAIT, which had been threatening to file a plea against Flipkart-Walmart has finally done it.

All India Online Vendors Association (AIOVA) has already filed a plea against Flipkart for preferential treatment to some sellers.

In their plea, CAIT advocate Abir Roy said that Flipkart is a “combination of predation, exclusive tie-ups and of preferential sellers where even online vendors face discriminatory conditions”.

The major contention of CAIT is that, once Walmart completes the acquisition of Flipkart, then they will become partial towards few sellers, and this is against the principles of fair business.

CAIT has earlier promised to wage a war against Flipkart-Walmart deal, and this latest plea with CCI against them clearly shows that they were not kidding.
