iPhone X Is The Most Profitable Smartphone – Apple Scores 90 Percent Industry Profits!
The iPhone X is an anniversary edition celebrating 10 years of Apple smartphones.
As per a recent report, Apple iPhone X has accounted for 35 percent of the entire profits made by the whole handset industry in the last quarter of 2017. Not just iPhone X, but Apple as a whole captured a whopping 90 percent of the total handset market profits.
The Apple iPhone X has been the most profitable smartphone, with Apple’s iPhone 8 on the second spot with 19.1 percent, followed by iPhone 8 Plus with 15.2 percent profit share.

The iPhone X is an anniversary edition celebrating 10 years of Apple smartphones. The smartphone has generated 35 percent of the entire profits made by the smartphone industry.
Launched in November, the model was available not even available in the market initially. It has been only available for the last two months of the last quarter of 2017.
iPhone X is the first Apple device with an OLED display which nearly covers the whole body on top. With no physical home button or a fingerprint sensor, the smartphone featured Face ID, which uses the user’s face to unlock the smartphone. It is also the most expensive Apple handset ever made.
More Profit Than That Of 600 Android OEMs Combined
iPhone X made five-times more profits than 600 Android OEMs combined. iPhone X achieved this feat in the last quarter of 2017.
Currently, Huawei is world’s third-largest smartphone manufacturer, and also the largest smartphone maker in China. The company became the leading brand among all the major Chinese brands. Huawei has recorded a profit which is increasing 59 percent on a year-on-year (YoY) basis.
Apple Leads The Table
It’s not just the iPhone X, but even the older-generation iPhones have made huge profits. The previous generation iPhones like iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 6 have successfully generated more profits than several recently launched Android flagships from some of the key Chinese OEMs.
The current flagships from the brand are one of the most profitable handsets in the market. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus is on the second and third spot respectively, with the older previous generation flagships iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 6 Plus led the list of top 10 smartphones.
These smartphones have captured over 90 percent share of the total handset profits.
The company sold 77.3 million iPhones in the last quarter, which is down 1 percent from the previous year. The higher prices of the new iPhones helped Apple to score an all-time record in quarterly profit and overall revenue.
iPhone X was first internationally unveiled on September 12, 2017, and it was later made available in the international markets from November onwards. In India, the iPhone X made its debut on November 3. It was launched at a premium price point of Rs 89,000/- for the base model, which comes with 64GB storage while the higher 256GB storage variant cost Rs 1,02,000/-.
