RCom Launches ’Joy Of Holi’ Offer; Unlimited Calling & Data Packs Starting Rs. 49
While the leading telcos and Jio have been launching and revising their tariff plans, Reliance Communications (RCom) has been quiet for some time now.
RCom has not announced any disruptive plans like Jio, but it has come up attractive tariff plans for new customers.
As the festival of Holi is approaching the Indian subcontinent, the company has decided to capitalise on that by launching new plans for attracting new customers under the “Joy of Holi” offer.

RCom Recognises The Potential Of 2G And 3G Subscribers
Unlike other telecom operators, who are focusing only on 4G users by launching attractive plans valid only on 4G smartphone, Reliance Communications is paying due attention to the needs of its 2G and 3G subscribers as well.
“We now take a new leap with additional benefits being offered to our 4G customers, with the ‘Joy of Holi’ offer. Additionally, we still see immense potential in the 3G and 2G markets, which boast of 750 million Smartphones and data-ready feature phones. We have, therefore, customised special offerings in this space as well, with segmented and value-creating propositions,” said Gurdeep Singh, Co-CEO at Reliance Communications, and CEO at RCOM’s Consumer Business.
A total of 750 million 3G smartphones and data-ready feature phones are still present in the market and the company sees great potential in targeting those 2G/3G users by launching customized offerings.
It is good to see that RCom is still interested in catering to the needs of the 2G and 3G subscribers who are being taken for granted by other telcos.
I have been using RCom for quite a few years now, and I believe that the telecom operator should improve its network quality and data speed first, otherwise it may not find many takers who would switch from the leading networks (Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea) to its network.
What do you think? Would anyone of you want to switch from the Airtel, Vodafone, or Idea to RCom? Do let us know via the comments.
