Reliance Jio Launches 5G Across 11 Cities: Hailed As 'Largest Multi-State Rollout' (Check Full List)

This marks the telco’s largest multi-state rollout of the services till date.

The beneficiary cities

Jio’s 5G services have also been launched in Panchkula, Zirakpur, Mohali, Derabassi and Kharar.

The company said in a statement, “Reliance Jio has become the first and the only operator to launch 5G services in Trivandrum, Mysuru, Nashik, Aurangabad, Chandigarh Tricity, including areas of Mohali, Panchkula, Zirakpur, Kharar, and Derabassi.”

From December 28, Jio users in these cities will be invited to try out the ‘Jio Welcome Offer’, which offers unlimited bandwidth at up to 1 Gbps plus speeds, without any additional cost.

One of its largest launches

A Jio Spokesperson said, “We are proud to roll out Jio True 5G in these 11 cities and make it one of our largest launches since we started rolling out True 5G services.

This is a tribute to the millions of Jio users in these cities who will now commence 2023 by enjoying the transformational benefits of Jio True 5G technology.”

Why it’s superior to the other networks

The company added that Jio True 5G has a three-fold advantage that makes it the only ‘true’ 5G network in India:

  1. Stand-alone 5G architecture with advanced 5G network with Zero dependency on 4G network
  2. The largest and best mix of 5G spectrum across 700 MHz, 3500 MHz, and 26 GHz bands
  3. Carrier Aggregation that seamlessly combines these 5G frequencies into a single robust “data highway” using an advanced technology called Carrier Aggregation

How consumers benefit

The spokesperson added that with the launch, consumers of the regions will get “infinite growth opportunities in the areas of e-governance, education, automation, artificial intelligence, gaming, healthcare, agriculture, IT, and SMEs.”

Earlier this month, Reliance Jio collaborated with OnePlus to bring in the stand-alone 5G technology ecosystem in India.

OnePlus devices part of collaboration

This partnership will allow all OnePlus 5G devices to be powered by Jio ‘True 5G’ technology.

The two companies will be actively working together at the backend to make 5G technology more accessible to consumers and continue to expand their 5G technology services across the product portfolio.

OnePlus devices that come with access to the Jio True 5G network include the latest OnePlus 10 series, the OnePlus 9R, the OnePlus 8 Series and the range of Nord devices like- Nord, Nord 2T, Nord 2, Nord CE, Nord CE 2 and Nord CE 2 Lite.
