Hyundai To Showcase Ioniq 5 At Greater Noida Auto Expo in 2023

At the Greater Noida Auto Expo in 2023, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) will showcase the Ioniq 6 electric sedan. The Ioniq 5 EV, which will compete with the Kia EV6, is expected to be priced at around Rs. 50 lakh (ex-showroom) and be announced at the same event.

Its sedan sibling shares the E-GMP platform with the Ioniq 5. The third all-electric vehicle offered by the brand in foreign markets, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 made its debut internationally a few months ago.

The Ioniq 6 is available with various battery options, multiple drive configurations, and thanks to the dedicated skateboard architecture, it has a roomy interior. Its design was influenced by the Prophecy concept.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 will be pitted against the Tesla Model 3, Polestar 2, and BMW i4, and customers have praised it for its distinctive design and contemporary appeal. Its swooping bodywork has a retro appeal and a drag coefficient of just 0.21.

Hyundai Ioniq 6: Specifications And Features

The ducktail spoiler, full-width pixel-type LED tail lamps, prominent notchback stance, and fashionable alloy wheels all enhance the vehicle’s aesthetic appeal. The Ioniq 6 has dimensions of 4,855 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, 1,495 mm in height, and 2,950 mm in wheelbase.

Additionally, the interior is jam-packed with cutting-edge amenities and technologies. It has a twin-screen layout, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and fewer physical buttons than other vehicles. It has a battery pack that is 53 kWh and another that is 77 kWh.

Similar to the Ioniq 5, the top-spec variants’ twin electric motor setup generates 320 hp and 605 Nm, while the rear-wheel drive model generates 228 hp and 350 Nm.

The trim with the larger battery pack has a claimed WLTP range of 614 km with RWD, compared to 583 km with all-wheel drive. A single charge is said to extend the driving range of the smaller battery pack by 429 km.

Given that it shares many similarities with the soon-to-be-released Ioniq 5, Hyundai could use the motoring show to gauge consumer reaction before introducing it.

As per reports, online reservations for the EV are currently available for a Rs. 1 lakh initial token.
