Latest update coming from Kerala as they are set to launch 10 new Vande Bharat trains across the state popularly known as Namo Bharat.
How Does This Help?
As we already know that these trains are epitome of comfort and efficiency with modern design and air-conditioned features they are designed for inter-city travel at speeds of up to 130 km/h.
Besides this, these trains also come equipped with amenities such as automatic sliding doors and CCTV cameras for enhanced security.
With the help of these Vande Bharat trains, they are aiming to provide tourists who are visiting Kerala with the opportunity to explore the state’s natural beauty and rich culture while traveling across a variety of destinations.
So far, these trains have revolutionized short-distance travel in India and they are celebrated for their speed, modern facilities, and eco-friendly electric engines.
After their arrival in Kerala, the center is expecting smoother, faster travel options that align with the state’s commitment to sustainable tourism.
In addition to this, these services are expected to uplift Kerala’s tourism sector substantially.
Besides this, the improved travel experience with these trains will enhance connectivity to lesser-known destinations, enabling travelers to discover hidden gems across the state.
Accessibility and Availability
If you are wondering about the routes, two trains will begin operations from Kollam, heading to Thirunelveli and Thrissur out of the ten new services.
They are further planning to extend the Thrissur route to the temple town of Guruvayur.
Besides this, they will be having additional routes connecting Thiruvananthapuram to Ernakulam and Guruvayur to Madurai in Tamil Nadu.
They are facing infrastructure limitations at smaller stations that remain a challenge, as many currently cannot accommodate Vande Bharat trains.
But it cannot be denied that stopovers at smaller stations for these new trains could support regional development and tourism.
Additionally, a stopover could also encourage even more travelers to explore this unique area.
What About Ticket Fares and Travel Options?
When it comes to the ticket pricing, Indian Railways has announced fare structures for the Vande Bharat trains, with a minimum ticket price of Rs 30, which is inclusive of GST.
Apart from this, they are also offering season tickets, ranging from one week to a month.
It is noteworthy here that the monthly tickets offer travel for the cost of 20 single journeys, providing value for frequent travelers.
For instance, the fare for the Bhuj to Ahmedabad route is priced at Rs 430, excluding GST.
