Elon Musk Determined To Launch 100% Automated, Self-Driving Tesla Across These Countries
On Monday, CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk said that he is aiming that by the end of this year the self-driving technology of the car will be ready and depending on the regulatory approval, it will be released in the United States and possibly in Europe.
Focus on SpaceX & Self Driving Technology
Elon Musk spoke in an energy conference in Norway that his current focus is on the SpaceX Starship spacecraft and self-driving Tesla electric cars. He said that “The two technologies I am focused on, trying to ideally get done before the end of the year, are getting our Starship into orbit … and then having Tesla cars to be able to do self-driving.
He added that “Have self-driving in wide release at least in the U.S., and … potentially in Europe, depending on regulatory approval”.
He said that the world should develop sustainable sources of energy while continuing to extract oil and gas in order to sustain civilisation.
Musk told reporters on the side-lines of the conference “Realistically I think we need to use oil and gas in the short term, because otherwise civilisation will crumble”.
He said, while speaking on whether Norway should continue to drill for oil and gas that “I think some additional exploration is warranted at this time.”
Transition to Sustainable Energy & Economy is Huge Challenge
He said that “One of the biggest challenges the world has ever faced is the transition to sustainable energy and to a sustainable economy. That will take some decades to complete.”
As per him, the combined energy from the offshore wind power generation in the North Sea and that of stationary battery packs can be used. He said that “It could provide a strong, sustainable energy source in winter”.
