Top 5 Upcoming Cars From Maruti & Toyota In Next 6-Months: Can They Convince Indian Buyers?
Before the end of this year, Maruti Suzuki and Toyota joint venture is planning to launch 5 exciting new cars in the country in the next 6 months.
MSIL is planning to launch 2 new SUVs, while Toyota will introduce 2 new SUVs and an all-new hybrid MPV.
Maruti YTB SUV Coupe
Codenamed YTB, MSIL is in plans to launch the all-new SUV Coupe in the first quarter of 2023.
To be unveiled at Auto Expo 2023 in January, it will be launched in February. Based on the Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform that underpins the new Baleno hatchback, the SUV Couple shall be positioned between the Brezza & the Grand Vitara.
Speaking of the distribution, it will be sold exclusively through NEXA premium dealership network.
As per the reports, with high degree of electrification, the upcoming Maruti YTB SUV Coupe will receive Suzuki’s Boosterjet petrol engine. It might also come with a 1.2L 4-cylinder petrol engine with manual and CVT gearbox.
Maruti Grand Vitara SUV
It will be in September 2022, that Maruti Suzuki will launch the new Grand Vitara SUV. At the Toyota’s Bidadi based plant in Karnataka, the production has already started. Over 40,000 pre-orders for the new Grand Vitara SUV have already been received by the company.
There are going to be 6 trims in the same, namely, Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, Zeta Plus Hybrid & Alpha Plus Hybrid.
Offered in 9 different color options, it will have 6 monotone & 3 dual-tone. It shall be based on the Suzuki’s Global-C platform that underpins the new S-Cross and the Brezza.
It will be offered with two engine options – a 1.5L K15C Dual-Jet petrol with Smart Hybrid system and a 1.5L TNGA petrol with Intelligent Hybrid Tech.
Toyota Hyryder
The prices of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV will be released in September 2022. Designed and developed by Maruti Suzuki, the SUV is based on Suzuki’s Global-C plaform.
If one wants to book the new Hyryder, one has to pay a token amount of Rs 11,000 either online or at authorised dealership by paying the token amount.
There will be 4 variants – E, S, G and V – offered in the new Hyryder mild-hybrid version. The hybrid version will be available in 3 variants – S, G and V.
Neodrive and Hybrid will be the two engine options in the new Toyota Hyryder.
The Neodrive is the Suzuki’s 1.5-litre K15C Dual-jet petrol engine with a Smart Hybrid Tech. The hybrid version gets a 1.5L 3-cylinder TNGA Atkinson cycle engine with Intelligent Hybrid Tech.
Toyota Innova Hycross
In development is the new C-segment MPV. Rumored to be called the new Innova HyCross, will be sold alongside the existing Innova Crysta.
The model is expected to launch before the end of 2022 or early next year.
With a wheelbase of around 2,850mm and powered by a 2.0-litre petrol hybrid powertrain, it will be based on the Toyota’s Global TNGA-C or GA-C (Global Architecture), which is a modern, monocoque, front-wheel-drive set-up.
Toyota Land Cruiser 300
It is with a token amount of Rs 10 lakh that the pre-orders for the all-new Land Cruiser LC300 in India are being taken. Speaking of the overseas market, the SUV is already in sale.
The new Toyota Land Cruiser LC300’s new architecture is based on the GA-F platform and has a ladder-on-frame chassis with new high strength steel for improved stiffness.
Lighter than the previous model by 200 kgs, the car is plonked with a a 3.3-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 305bhp and 700Nm of torque. It is also paired to a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
In the global markets, the SUV is also equipped with a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged petrol engine that produces 415bhp and 650Nm of torque. It is paired to a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
