BSNL, MTNL Will Start 4G Services By End Of 2022 In This State; 14,000+ Villages To Have High-Speed Broadband
The State-run telecom companies Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) may switch to 4G network by the end of the year 2022, said Minister of State (MoS) for Communications said Devusinh Chauhan on Monday.

Villages without mobile network connectivity to be connected by the end of this year
Talking to the officials of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and postal department in Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, the minister stated that the villages in Gujarat that do not have mobile network connectivity will get connectivity by the end of this year.
New mobile towers to be installed in 60 villages in Gujarat
Chauhan stated, “Gujarat is a border state and the telecom department has chosen 60 villages from the security perspective for installing 50 new mobile towers at a cost of Rs. 41 crore. Of these, 37 villages have been covered while the remaining 13 villages will get mobile connectivity by June.”
Six lakh villages accross India to be connected with high-speed fiber broadband and mobile services
Adding that there’s a definite plan to connect six lakh villages across the country with high-speed fiber broadband and mobile services, the minister has stated that the government has decided to provide fibre connectivity to all 14,622 gram panchayats in Gujarat of which work is ongoing for installing fibre connectivity in the last phase of 4,400 villages.
New post offices in the making
He also stated that 11 new post offices are being constructed and plans are in the making for constructing 17 additional post offices in Gujarat. By 31st July, 1.25 lakh accounts of Sukanya Samruddhi scheme are going to be opened in the state.
5G spectrum will be rolled out by the end of this year
Moreover, Chauhan also said the 5G spectrum will be rolled out by end of this year all over India. The minister added that the government is setting up the infrastructure for the 5G spectrum, which will soon see auctions. A lot of people have expressed their apprehensions about health hazards related to the mobile towers. However, there has been no scientific backing to these claims.
