Jio, Airtel Add 93 Lakh New Users In 30 Days! But Vodafone Lost 43 Lakh Users (TRAI Data)
The bad patch for Vodafone Idea continues as the telecom operator has now lost some more mobile subscribers.
On the other hand, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio have gained more subscribers during the same month.

Vodafone Loses 42.89 Lakh Subscribers In June; Jio Tops List With 54.66 More Users!
As per the data released by TRAI, Vodafone Idea has lost 42.89 lakh users during June, while Reliance Jio added 54.66 lakh subscribers and Bharti Airtel added 38.12 lakh subscribers. BSNL has also lost a considerable number of subscribers, as many as 9.93 lakhs while MTNL added 4846 subscribers during the same month.
The data reveals that the overall base of Vodafone Idea has reduced to 27.33 crore subscribers by the end of June. During the same period, the overall base of the Mukesh Ambani-led telecom service provider increased to 43.66 crores which put the company in a leading position.
Bharti Airtel’s subscriber base increased to 35.21 crores during this period.
This shows that the number of telephone subscribers has increased to 120.2 crores at the end of June 2021. The monthly subscriber growth rate is 0.34 per cent. While urban subscription count was up, that of rural areas went down significantly in June.
The date states, “The number of broadband subscribers increased from 780.27 million (about 78 crore) at the end of May-21 to 792.78 million (about 79.2 crore) at the end of June-21 with a monthly growth rate of 1.60 per cent.”
The data has been collected based on the reports received from 440 operators in the month of June 2021.
Top Five Service Providers Made Up For 98.77% Market Share
The top five service providers that made up for 98.77 per cent market share of the total broadband subscribers at the end of June were Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, BSNL, and Atria Convergence, as confirmed by the data by TRAI.
Jio also managed to add the maximum number of subscribers in wireline connections, as many as 1.87 lakh new users in that category which made the overall tally to 38.94 lakh. Whereas, Bharati Airtel added 97,575 wireline users taking its user base to 49.39 lakh crore.
Vodafone Idea also added 7190 subscribers, which resulted in its user base in the segment to 43 lakh.
