Maruti Will Lauch A New Rs 6 Lakh Premium Hatchback To Fight Hyundai i20, Nissan Magnite
Maruti 800 to Baleno, Indians have been adoring hatchbacks for ages now. And it seems like even Maruti Suzuki doesn’t get tired of the segment. Maruti Baleno has tested success since its inception in 2015. It is one of the most successful premium hatchbacks in its segment. Baleno has been managing to dominate the segment market unabashedly. The car has received only one facelift since its inception. The news is making rounds in the industry that Baleno will be facelifted with a new generation in the upcoming days.
Looks might be revamped
Already Great design of Baleno might be tweaked for fresh appeal. It will get new headlamps and tail lamps, new bumpers, new alloy wheels, and a new front grille. The new Baleno version might get some new color, at the same time, it will be available in its signature Nexa colors.
Interiors have never been a strong point of Maruti cars. But the new Baleno is expected to come with completely reworked interiors. We might be seeing a new dashboard layout, new seating & upholstery, and a new multifunction steering wheel. A sunroof to the Baleno might be in the works, making it the first Maruti car to come with a sunroof. The car could also come with engine auto start-stop and new hybrid technology.
Other specifications and Features
The new-generation Baleno is might retain the 1.2-liter VVT engine that produces 81bhp and 113Nm of torque. The engine might be tuned to produce more power. The car might get another engine in the form of a 1.0-liter Boosterjet petrol engine. A hybrid engine that will further help in improving the mileage of the car can also be expected.
The new variant of the car might also come with wireless charging, wireless Android Auto & Apple Carplay, cruise control, and sunroof. Maruti may add four airbags and hill hold control, for improving the safety of passengers.
The on-road price of Mumbai of Baleno currently starts at Rs 6.94 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 10.70 lakh. The price of the new-generation Maruti Baleno might be hiked by Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 over what it currently sells for.
