Govt Asks States To Vaccinate All 5 Lakh Bank Employees After 600 Die Due To Covid19
The finance ministry of India requested the state governments on Friday to provide vaccines on priority basis for bank and other such financial services employees, they also sought free movement of such employees so that the banking services remained uninterrupted.
A copy of the letter signed by department of financial services (DFS) secretary Debasish Panda was posted by him on Twitter.
Consider A Specific Time For Vaccination
“As bank employees must travel from home to their respective offices, branches and offices, branches must function and remain physically open. to them, and not to interfere with or interfere with their work or their travels, “Panda wrote in a letter to the provincial secretaries.
On April 22, the finance department had written to the country’s governments, heads of banking and insurance companies and the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA), among others, to consider setting a specific time for vaccinating their employees first.
On Friday, Panda also said that there were unfavorable conditions in various provinces and areas of the Union where bank employees were controlled by state law enforcement officials.
Similarly, bank offices and branches are sometimes ordered to close even during bank-approved hours, subject to threats, he said.
Large Number Of Bank Employees Being Infected
“While bank employees are already risking their lives and need to be assured of their safety, these incidents lead to direct conflict and ultimately disappoint them and their families, leading to disruption of services,” Panda said.
The last round of epidemics has affected 600 banks losing to the Covid-19 war and it is estimated that a large number of bank employees have been infected during this time. However, many banks have not released details of how many of their employees have contracted the virus that has returned with a new vigor in the second wave.
The IBA wrote to the department on February 1 requesting the inclusion of banks in the most important vaccine list, citing, among other things, a new version of covid-19. “The matter was discussed at an IBA executive committee meeting held on January 15, where it was widely agreed that the government should include bank employees on the important free vaccination list,” the IBA letter said.
