Delhi Will Ditch CBSE, Launch Its Own Education Board; Govt Schools Will Pilot This Transition
Some government schools of Delhi are planning to ditch the CBSE board of education and will be affiliating with a new board, which will be called the Delhi Board of School Education.
This change is expected to be implemented as soon as in the next academic year.

New Educational Board To Be Set Up In Delhi; Schools To De-affiliate With CBSE
The Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal has announced that a specific group of government schools will be will be de-affiliated from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The schools will be affiliated to a new board, the Delhi Board of School Education.
The change in the affiliation will be implemented in the upcoming academic year, 2021-2022
As of now, there are about 1000 schools that are run by the Delhi government, and all of them are following the CBSE board. The initiation of the new board had been announced by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who also said that the government is allotting a sum of Rs 62 crore during the 2020 annual budget for Delhi
The CM stated, “We will not move all schools to this board at once. In this first year, affiliation of 20-25 government schools will be removed and they will be affiliated to this board. We will decide on the schools in consultations with their principals, teachers and parents.”
All Private And Government Schools To Join New Educational Board
He has also stated that all private and government schools will voluntarily join this board within the next four or five years.
The CBSE has recommended to the schools that are affiliated to it that they should begin their new academic year in April. The Delhi Government official has said that a timeline has been set for themselves where the academic session will begin a bit later, somewhere in July.
As per reports, the new board will be headed by Education Minister Manish Sisodia and will be supervised by a governing body. There will also be an executive body and a CEO who will overlook and coordinate the everyday activities of the board.
