Honda To Launch A New Compact SUV; All Set To Compete With Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue
The launch of the new Honda compact SUV is not yet confirmed, but it is expected to be here by 2022 or 2023. The car will be pitted against the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, and Mahindra XUV300.
The reason for the popularity of these vehicles is that it is a great fusion of specifications and affordability that they offer. As of now, almost all the leading car manufacturers are either already present in the market or for this segment or are planning to make their debuts soon.
The company will reportedly use Amaze’s platform for the new SUV, which we know is a lightweight architecture and is compatible with different body styles and engines.
Honda’s New Compact SUV: Specifications And Features
Reports suggest that the SUV will come with two engine variants – a 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol with Honda’s compact hybrid system – e-HEV. The turbo petrol variant might be based on the new City and is capable of 120 bhp and 173 Nm. The transmission choices will include both manual and automatic units.
The car will also be fitted with multiple features, including an electric sunroof, cruise control, wireless smartphone charger, and large-screen infotainment unit.
The company’s Indian product portfolio states that the new Honda compact SUV will be placed above the Honda WR-V and it will be a global product. This means that the company will be launching the car in other emerging markets as well.
As per reports, the model might make its world debut around May 2021.
As of now, there are not many details available about the SUV, and will most likely be released in near future.
