Amazon Hiring 100,000 New Employees Due To Surge In Demand; New Jobs In India?
Online e-commerce giant, Amazon has now announced that they will be hiring as much as 100,000 more workers in the US and Canada.

Amazon To Recruit 100,000 More Workers As Online Shopping Spikes
As the world has been under lockdown, the online modes of shopping have seen a huge spike. Amazon is planning to recruit 100,000 more workers so as to meet the growing demand for online shopping. Especially now that the festive season is approaching.
These positions are for full time and part-time work across the U.S. and Canada, and also include jobs at 100 package sorting centers and other facilities that Amazon is planning to open in September. The company has already employed 876,800 by the end of June and this number doesn’t include contractors and temporary personnel.
As per reports, these employees of these roles will be given a starting wage of at least $15 per hour. In addition to that, Amazon is planning to offer sign on bonuses up to $1000 to the newly hired employees in some selected cities.
Amazon Observed Highest Ever Profit and 40% Increase In Revenue; To Build 100 More Buildings
The online eCommerce behemoth has observed a 40% increase in the revenue last quarter and the best profit ever in its history of 26 years. Automation is also being implemented at its newly opened buildings simultaneously as revealed by Alicia Boler Davis , Amazon’s vice president of global customer fulfillment.
Boler said, “We will continue to deploy technology where appropriate, starting from a safety perspective” and “where we can improve our overall operation.
This recruitment drive by Amazon husband announced just a few days after it revealed the creation of 33000 corporate and technology jobs. Amazon had also assured and addition of 100000 and 75000 new operation jobs in March and April respectively
Dave Clark, senior vice president of worldwide operations at Amazon had announced that Amazon will be opening 100 buildings in this month alone. These new buildings will be across new fulfillment and sortation centers, delivery stations, and other sites.
