As we all know, the popularity of video calling platforms is increasing, especially in this period of lockdown due to the Coronavirus. Tapping into this market, Reliance Jio is planning to launch a videoconferencing app as well, which will be called JioMeet.

As per Reliance’s earnings statement, JioMeet is a “nationwide video platform.”

The app will compete with other counterparts, such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom, WhatsApp’s video-calling feature, etc.

Pankaj Pawar, senior VP, Reliance Jio Infocomm said, “Jio Meet is a platform which has many uniqueness- it actually has an ability to work on any device, any operating system, and it has an ability to do a complete collaboration.”

JioMeet To Offer HD-Quality Experience 

JioMeet is an HD video conferencing tool, i.e., the platform will offer its customers HD-quality experience across all the devices in which it will be used.

JioMeet To Allow 100 Users On The App

JioMeet has two plans, the free plan and the business plan. The free plan will allow five users and the business plan will allow 100 users.

Users To Join Through Email And OTP

JioMeet will enable hosts to join conferences through emails and OTP-based logins, whereas, the guests can join the app through a simple conferencing link.

Users Can Join Through These Browsers

Users will be able to join meetings through a Chrome browser. Also, the video conferencing solution can be accessed on Outlook through a plugin or even through Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

JioMeet To Be Available On These Platforms

JioMeet will be available for Android, iOS smartphones and it will also support Windows and macOS computers.

JioMeet To Be Integrated With Jio’s e-Health

The app will be integrated with Jio’s eHealth app and it will also enable users to consult doctors virtually, obtain prescriptions, order medicines online and there will also be digital waiting rooms for doctors.

JioMeet To Be Integrated With Jio’s e-Education

JioMeet will also be integrated with the e-education platform to help students and teachers create virtual classrooms, record sessions, assign and submit homework, organize tests, etc.
