OnePlus 7T, OnePlus TV Launched In India: Price, Specs, Availability
The much-awaited OnePlus TV is here alongside the latest OnePlus smartphone, the upgraded OnePlus 7T. The company has made some changes to bring the new OnePlus 7T to the limelight, something the regular OnePlus 7 lost because of the hyped Pro model, the OnePlus 7 Pro.
Especially in India, the regular OnePlus 7 hasn’t been able to do that well in the entry flagship space, but that seems to change soon with the new OnePlus 7T.
The company has added a slew of new top-end flagship features to its latest smartphone, and it does look like a winner in the price segment. The BBK-owned company also unveiled its first ever TV in the country, a Quad LED Smart Television with some path-breaking features.
As always, OnePlus again aims to bring the best on a budget, and the latest launches aren’t any different. Both OnePlus 7T and OnePlus Smart TV pack in a punch, and they seem to have everything you would want on a flagship and new age Smart TV.
Here’s everything you need to know about the all-new OnePlus 7T and OnePlus SmartTV.
OnePlus 7T: What’s New?
The latest OnePlus 7T will see an upgrade in terms of design technology. The device will pack in a triple-camera system inside a circular design packed in a frosted matte finish layer. It’s a mix of glass and feels metallic on the out. OnePlus 7T will come with the same 90 Hz Fluid AMOLED screen as OnePlus 7 Pro.
The company claimed that the display will come with 40ms touch response and new animation optimisations under the latest OxygenOS, specifically optimised for new gestures on a 90Hz refresh rates screen. The display size has increased to 6.55-inches in an 20:9 aspect ratio along with the water drop notch.
OnePlus 7T will offer some top-class brightness and HDR with HDR10+ support. The same is also supported for content via Amazon Prime, Netflix and YouTube. It can have a peak brightness of over 1000 nits. OnePlus also unveiled a new Chromatic reading mode, an upgraded Reading Mode from 2017 with low saturated colours.
OnePlus 7T features a triple-camera system in a circular unit comprising of a 48MP main sensor, 16MP ultra-wide sensor with a 117-degree field of view and a third 2X telephoto camera. OnePlus 7T also supports macro shots from as close as 2.5cm. There’s a new Nightscape and Portrait, also supported by the ultra-wide lens.
OnePlus 7T imaging software has been specifically designed to support Super Stable. It uses the gyroscope and EIS to give the user super steady videos without any shakes.
OnePlus 7T is the first smartphone in the world to come with Android 10 out of the box. OnePlus also announced OnePlus Pay and OnePlus Cloud Storage. It offers free additional 50 GB of storage for the first year.
OnePlus 7T will run on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chip. It has new Kryo cores clocked up to 2.96 GHz with improved GPU performance upto 15 percent. OnePlus 7T comes with the same UFS 3.1 storage as predecessor with 8GB of RAM and utp 256GB of internal storage.
The company also unveiled a new fast charging technology at the event. The OnePlus 7T smartphone was introduced with a new Warp Charge 30T technology, which is 23 percent faster than the previous OnePlus 7 Pro’s Warp 30 charging technology.
OnePlus TV: What’s So Special?
The OnePlus TV will have a 55-inch screen size powered by a Quantum LED display technology. It will feature 4K resolution achieving a 96 percent DCIP-3 score and 120 percent NTSC score, making the OnePlus TV the best in the world.Â
The TV comes with a special Gamma Colour Magic processor to enhance the picture quality further. It will be available in a standard variant and a Pro variant.
It has a thickness of 7mm with a 95.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. OnePlus TV will be powered by MediaTek MT5670 chipset, which has been specially designed for smart TVs. The MediaTek 5670 will have four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and an ARM Mali-G51 GPU. The GPU will offer “studio-quality video” automatically adjusting the required sharpness and quality using facial and scene recognition.
The top-end OnePlus TV Pro will come with an additional sliding soundbar with 8 speakers and a 50W sound output. They offer forward transmission system which automatically slides down in 7.2 seconds.
The OnePlus TV will play all the content at 60 Hz refresh rate, powered by Dolby’s audio and visual technologies. The latest bDolby Vision Atmos technology is said to offer 40 percent more brightness and advanced colour accuracy including OTT content: Netflix, Amazon Prime, Eros Now, Zee TV and other platforms.
The OnePlus TV comes with in-built screencasting capabilities with voice-enabled Google Assistant with guaranteed Android TV updates for the next three years. The OnePlus TV UI has been named Oxygen Play. Netflix is not available as of now, but it will be available by the end of the year.
OnePlus TV can be directly connected with your smartphone via OnePlus Connect which will enable you to control your Smart TV directly with your smartphone.
OnePlus 7T India Price, OnePlus TV Price
OnePlus TV India prices start at Rs 69,990. The 55-inch standard OnePlus TV Q1 will cost Rs 69,900, while the top-end Q1 Pro 55-inch will cost Rs 99,900 in the country. Coming to OnePlus 7T, the smartphone has been launched at the earlier OnePlus 6T price.
The 8GB – 128GB OnePlus 7T will cost Rs 37,999 in India, and the top OnePlus 7T 8GB – 256 GB model will cost Rs 38,999.
OnePlus TV and OnePlus 7T will be available via Amazon India and OnePlus online store. The new devices will be up for sale straight from September 28. Both OnePlus 7T and OnePlus TVs will be available via Amazon Great Indian Festival, so you can grab some additional discount.
