Holding up the trend of OTT channels onward and upward is Zomato, the popular online food ordering platform.
Flipkart recently announced its entry in the world of online streaming, followed by Apple with its Apple TV+ making its debut in the already populated world of OTT players in India.
And now, Zomato too is launching a video streaming service, which is called Zomato Originals.

Zomato Becomes OTT Player; Launches Zomato Originals
Zomato has recently been the talk of the town for garnering bad press, but has been one of the leading online food ordering platforms in India.
Zomato Originals plans to stream shows that are related to food and food-related categories.
Deepinder Goyal, CEO and Founder, Zomato, said, “We are constantly looking for new ways to engage our users around food. Most of our users visit our app several times a week. This presents us with an opportunity to further delight our users using Zomato Originals.”

Launch of Zomato Originals
Zomato Originals was scheduled to launch on September 16, 2019, therefore it is now available for everyone to watch and enjoy. This service is launched exclusively in India
Where To Watch Zomato Originals
Unlike many other platforms, Zomato is planning to introduce this video streaming feature in its food ordering app itself. There will be a separate ‘Videos’ tab, where the platform will stream video content.
There is also a ‘Sneak Peek’ tab recently introduced, where viewers will get to watch stories of restaurants.
Videos On Zomato Originals
The videos on the platform will be of three to fifteen minutes and shot in a vertical frame mostly. For ease of operation, there will be playlists that will help you choose.
Shows On Zomato Originals
There will be 18 different shows, all related to our favourite thing – food, and will be spread over the next three months. Zomato Originals will have a multiple different genres such as ‘Comedy, reality, fiction, advice, celebrity interviews will explore food in unique, engaging and entertaining videos.’
There will be shows in both English and Hindi.
Some of the shows that will be streamed on the platform are – Food and You with Sanjeev Kapoor, Banake Dikha with Sumukhi Suresh, Grandmaster Chef with Sahil Shah, Starry meals with Janice, Race Against the App, Dude, where’s the food with Jordindian
