Realme U2 Coming Next? Realme To Launch New Device Soon
Realme just launched two new smartphones in the country: Realme 3 Pro and Realme C2. A mid-range budget flagship and an entry-budget smartphone.
While these smartphones are yet to go on sale, there’s a new update related to its next launch.
The company recently also launched a new variant of the existing Realme U1 device. When the teasers came out, experts speculated it to be next Realme U device, but it was just another Realme U1 variant.
But now, some leaks hint at the next Realme device launching in a couple of months, and it could be Realme U2.
Though, nothing is confirmed, the price cut hints at the next generation Realme U series device.
New Realme Device Launch: Realme U2 Coming Next?
Realme permanently discounted Realme 2 Pro before launching its successor, Realme 3 Pro. So, some theories hint at the next Realme U series device being the next Realme smartphone to launch in India given its price cut.
Launched at Rs 10,999 back in December, Realme U1 now is available starting at Rs 9,999. The base model comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.
The company even added a new storage option at the old launch price (Rs 10,999) with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage.
Even the top model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is available at a discounted price of Rs 11,999.
While nothing is confirmed by the company yet, the launch pattern of Realme also suggests Realme U2. Last year the company launched Realme U1 in December after the Realme 2 Pro and Realme C1 in September.
This year, Realme 3 launched first in March, then Realme 3 Pro and Realme C2 together in April. So, if the ex-Oppo sub-brand follows the same launch pattern in India, Realme U2 is the next Realme smartphone set to launch in India.
Realme U2: What’s In The Box?
The next generation Realme U smartphone will see a few minor upgrades. Being a selfie-centric series as Redmi Y smartphones from Xiaomi, the device will take on the latest Redmi Y3 with a super front camera.
The processor also will see an upgrade. Realme U1 currently runs on MediaTek Helio P70 12nm chip, the same chip which now powers Realme 3.
The design will be more like the new Realme 3 with a Realme branding at the back vertically printed.
It’s going to be a polycarbonate body with a gradient finish and the same water-drop notched display.
The current Realme U1 comes with a 3,500mAh battery. At the back, the smartphone now comes with a 13-megapixel primary sensor coupled with 2-megapixel secondary sensor. Both the rear camera and battery will see an upgrade.
Finally, coming to the Realme U2 price in India, it is expected to be around 10,000 rupees. It will probably launch at the same price as its predecessor’s older pricing.
