Redmi Y3 Teaser Out: Specs, Price, Launch, Availability & More!

Xioami’s selfie-focused Y series will soon have a new smartphone under Redmi. The company launched its first two generations last year, and after a long gap the Redmi Y3 will now land in the country.

The company recently shared another official teaser hinting an all new design.

To aim at Vivo and Oppo, Xiaomi launched its Y series last year Redmi to cater to the selfie-loving audience. The previous generation smartphones have done considerably well, and the upcoming device is expected to carry the good run forward.

Redmi Y3 has already been confirmed with the 32-megapixel Super Selfie Camera up front.

Let’s check out the specs and relevant information available about Redmi Y3.

Redmi Y3: Specs & Features

The Redmi Y series is exclusive to India only. A selfie-focused smartphone product line, Redmi Y phones focuses on good cameras, both front and back. The company debuted with Y series in India last year, and Y2 smartphones are still now available via Amazon and Mi.com.

The upcoming Redmi Y3 will see a phenomenal upgrade over the current Y2 smartphone backed by new features and specs.

While the company has already confirmed the launch of the smartphone, nothing in particular has been shared. The 32-megapixel Super Selfie Camera has been in the news since the device was first spotted on a certification site.

The latest teaser reveals an all new design. Till now the Y series smartphones came with standard metal finish backs. But the new Redmi Y3 will see a new gradient finish design, similar to what we previously saw on Note 7 or Note 7 Pro. Though this looks like a polycarbonate back, we are still yet to confirm.

It has the tagline “Redmi by Xiaomi” at the back, again similar to what we have previously seen on the Redmi Note 7 series smartphones in India. It reflects three colours: blue, purple and yellow.

In China, Redmi has been separated as an independent brand, but in India under the new FDI policy, Xiaomi cannot operate with two seperate brands.

The earlier rumours hinted at the presence of a water drop notch display, or dot notch as Xiaomi calls it on the front. The front design is expected to be very similar to the current Redmi Note 7, but probably with a HD+ display.

It may come with a 4,000mAh battery running on either Snapdragon 636 or Snapdragon 660 chip. The current Y2 already runs on Snapdragon 625. Coming to optics, the smartphone will come with a dual rear camera system with MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie taking charge of Redmi Y3.

Redmi Y3 India Launch: To Be Available Via Amazon India

Xiaomi has sold Y series smartphones via Amazon India only. Similarly, Redmi Y3 has already been listed on Amazon India website ahead of its launch. Amazon has a dedicated live page for Redmi Y3 listing up some details.

The Amazon Redmi Y3 page suggests that the smartphone will run a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor without naming the SoC.

Xiaomi too hasn’t revealed any data of Redmi Y3 yet. Coming to Redmi Y3 India launch, the smartphone will go official in the country on April 24, two days after Realme 3 Pro launch. The smartphone will go on sale within a week via Amazon, Mi.com and Mi Home stores.

Redmi Y3 India Price | Redmi Y3 Price In India

In the few recent months, Xiaomi has been very critical about its pricing. After a dull phase in late 2018, the company has again started to price its smartphones very aggressively against Realme and Asus smartphones.

Redmi Y3 won’t be any different, and is expected to be priced at a very competitive range.

The pricing is although unknown, but it will be in fall somewhere around 9,000 rupees for the base model. The previous leak hinted at two storage models with 32GB and 64GB storage respectively.

In all, Redmi Y3 is going to be a massive upgrade over the current Redmi Y2.

While the competition is quite tempting under the Rs 10,000 category, Redmi Y3 has to be an all-rounder to emerge as a winner in the segment. The device goes official on April 24.

Stay tuned for more updates on Redmi Y3.
