Redmi 7 Launched At Rs 7,000 With Snapdragon 632 – Specs, India Launch Date, USPs & More!

Xiaomi has been successfully expanding its budget smartphone series with newly separated Redmi sub-brand. After Note 7, Note 7 Pro and it’s Go smartphone, Redmi now has its seventh generation 7 series with some great specs and features.

Redmi 7 has been launched in China today.

The new independent Xiaomi sub-brand has done really well with its budget smartphones. In 2019, the new Redmi till now has launched four smartphones including the new Redmi 7.

The smartphone has been priced at 699 yuan for the base model, which roughly translates to INR 7,000.

Redmi 7: Specs & Features

A massive upgrade over Redmi 6, the latest seventh generation Redmi 7 packs in some great features at a very aggressive price. Redmi 7 features a 6.26-inch HD+ display in a 19:9 aspect ratio with the same dot notch on top and a polycarbonate built on the out with a P2i coating and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Redmi 7 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 632, an octa-core processor built on a 14nm process.

Coming to optics, Redmi 7 features rear dual camera system comprising of a 12MP primary sensor coupled with a 2MP secondary sensor.

The primary rear sensor has a 1/2.9 aperture to improve photography in low light situations. Redmi 7 also packs in a number of AI features to enhance photography. Up front, Redmi 7 has an 8MP single sensor inside the notch.

The smartphone will come with all standard features like dual SIM connectivity, 4G support, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm headphone, on top.

Carrying forward its legacy of big batteries, Redmi 7 will pack in a massive 4,000mAh battery. A surprising addition is a new fast-charger, a much-awaited feature. Redmi 7 will come bundled with an 18W fast charger, an upgrade over its 10W standard brick.

Redmi 7 Variants | Redmi 7 Price In India

In China, Redmi 7 has been launched in three storage variants: 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. But in India, Redmi 7 will come in only two storage models: 32GB and 64GB storage.

Coming to the price, Redmi 7 has been priced in China as:

16GB: 699 yuan ~ INR 7,099

32GB: 799 yuan ~ INR 8,099

64GB: 999 yuan ~  INR 10,199

Only the last two storage variants will make its way to the country. Redmi 7 in India is expected to start at around Rs 7,999 or even lower.

As of now, Xiaomi India is yet to comment on any official launch date. Though, it’s definitely sure that Redmi 7 is coming to India, and it may happen as soon as April. The company will soon be launching its first Android Go smartphone in the country, Redmi Go.

Redmi 7 India launch is expected very soon.

The company recently sparked up a price war in India with Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro. The same aggressive pricing strategy is expected even with Redmi 7 in India.

Given the specs and features, Redmi 7 will go against the likes of Asus Zenfone Max M2, Realme 3 and Honor 8C in the country.
