Xiaomi is working on a number of smartphones in 2019 for different budget categories. Here are the upcoming Xiaomi phones in 2019:
Redmi Pro 2
Xiaomi recently took Redmi out of its hat to re-launch it as an independent sub-brand. The first smartphone from the company this year is going to be Redmi Pro 2. It will come with Sony IMX 586 48MP sensor, Snapdragon 675 and a speculated punch-hole display. Xiaomi will officially launch the device in China at an event on January 10, with an expected India launch by March.
Redmi 7
The new sub-brand will come with a host of devices. Xiaomi will launch multiple devices during this period under its new seperate Redmi brand. The other rumoured smartphone of the year is Redmi 7. The upcoming Redmi 7 is said to see some phenomenal upgrades over Redmi 6. The official images are out as well. There’s a dual vertically placed rear camera on top left edge, a 6.3-inch water drop notched display and 3,900mAh battery.
Redmi Note 7
Within two months of the launch of the last Xiaomi Redmi Note, the company has already started to work on the next Note 7. The new sub-brand is being expected to have an aggressive entry into the budget market with a number of phones. Redmi Note 7 has already been confirmed with a Snapdragon 660 chipset with a gradient colour finish on the out.
Mi A3
Xiaomi has started to work on its next Android One device, expected to hit the market by second quarter. Both Mi A1 and Mi A2 has done well in India, and Mi A3 is expected with some top features and camera as well. The device has been confirmed by XDA with a codename orchid_sprout running on the latest Android Pie. Xiaomi Mi A3 may turn out to be a Mi 8 Lite rip off running on stock Android.
Mi 9
Xiaomi is reportedly working on it’s next flagship Mi 9 running on the newly launched Snapdragon 855 platform. Mi 9 may launch by the end of February at Mobile World Congress 2019. Mi 9 may sport a water drop notched body like OnePlus 6T. The leaked specs reveal a 6.4-inch 19:9 Full HD+ AMOLED, Snapdragon 855 chipset, upto 8GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Mi 9 will come with a triple rear camera setup comprising of a primary camera of 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor, 12MP secondary sensor and the third camera will be a 3D TOF camera.
Poco F2
The second generation Poco F2 has been spotted on a certification site, hinting at an imminent launch. Poco F2 will come with a water drop notched display, the same Snapdragon 845 processor, dual camera setup and a a physical fingerprint sensor. It’s not going to be a phenomenal upgrade, but the smartphone will pack in some new features.
Redmi 7 Pro
Another Redmi 7 variant, the Redmi 7 Pro will launch in the country within a few months. The earlier leaked images of the smartphone were found to be fake. As per the latest reports, the device may come with a water drop styled notch, dual cameras and a rear-placed fingerprint sensor. Mi Play launch in India as Redmi 7 Pro.
Redmi Go
Xiaomi will be launching its own Android Go smartphone in 2019. Dubbed as Redmi Go, the upcoming Xiaomi Android Go has already been leaked with the key specs. The Xiaomi Redmi Go Android Go smartphone will come with a 18:9 widescreen display, dual SIM support, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and a standard MediaTek processor at a budget price.
Redmi 7A
Xiaomi will launch the successor to its hit budget Redmi series in a few months, marketed by the company as ‘Desh Ka Smartphone‘. All the earlier generation smartphones of the series have been extremely successful, be it Redmi 4A, Redmi 5A or the current Redmi 6A. The upcoming Redmi 7A is expected to carry forward the legacy with some latest features like a notch, dual cameras and more.
Mi MIX 4
Xiaomi has reportedly already started to plan on the next Mi MIX, expected to launch during the late 2019. Mi MIX 3 was the first smartphone in the world to come with 10GB of RAM and commercial 5G. Mi MIX 4 will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, rear triple camera setup with a periscope lens, bezel-less display and more. It’s still too early to comment on Mi MIX 4, but we expect to see some innovative technology again.
Xiaomi Foldable Phone
We don’t know whether it will launch in 2019 or not, or if it’s a well made fake video or Xiaomi is actually working on such a device. Earlier this week a video surfaced online showing a foldable smartphone cum tablet running on MIUI. Xiaomi working on a foldable smartphone shouldn’t be shocking given its peers already into it. Even if the news is true, we expect the Xiaomi foldable smartphone by late 2019 or early 2020.
