BSNL 4G Speed Test Beats Jio, Airtel
Folks at TelecomTalk did a speed test of BSNL’s 4G in Kerala and mindblowing results have emerged.
In the Upload speed department, BSNL’s 4G was able to give almost 10 Mbps speed, which is way more than what Jio or Airtel is offering right now.
In May, we had reported about upload speed of various telcos, and the average was between 3 and 5 Mbps, for Jio, Airtel and others. As per TRAI’s speed app tests, Idea gives the best upload speed.
In the download speed test, BSNL was able to give 24.6 Mbps speed, which is again on-par with what Jio and Airtel give, even better to some extent (atleast in Pune!).
BSNL’s 4G Footprint Expands To Chennai, Karnataka
Meanwhile, BSNL’s 4G SIMs are now available in Chennai and Karnataka states. Users are able to purchase the SIMs for Rs 20. However, it is not yet clear when will 4G coverage start over there.
With this BSNL’s 4G has now expanded to 7 states.
BSNL’s 4G initially started from testing in Idukki district in Kerala, which has now expanded to two more districts: Thrissur and Malappuram. Overall, in these 3 districts, BSNL now has 700 towers which support 4G coverage.
BSNL’s 4G services are also being tested in rural pockets of Nagpur and Bhiwapur city. And some circles in Andhra, Telangana.
Last month, BSNL started testing 4G services in Gujarat state, as they announced that 3G will be completely abolished, and 4G network will soon take over. In Gujarat, we received reports that users are getting free 4G SIMs.
Govt. of India has already said that to make Digital India a success, India needs BSNL.
