Only Jio Passes TRAI’s Call Drop Test, Airtel, Vodafone Fail; Jio Gigafiber Is Available In These Cities
Even after PM Modi complained about call drops, no major improvement was witnessed.
Call drop is an issue is which refuses to die down. Despite thousands of crores of investments by telcos, users are still experiencing bad call quality.
Recently, even PM Modi experienced call drops and had to complain to TRAI.
In a recent call drop test conducted by TRAI, it was found that only Jio was able to able to provide a respectable score and rest all other telcos failed.
This is indeed alarming.
Meanwhile, we will share the list of cities where Jio Gigafiber will be available.
Airtel, Vodafone, BSNL Fail Call Drop Test; Only Jio Pass
Recently, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India or TRAI conducted a series of call drop tests, pan India.
These tests were conducted to test call drops on highways and rail-route – 8 Highways three rail routes were selected for the test.
Highways included: Asansol to Gaya, Digha to Asansol, Gaya to Danapur, Bengaluru to Murdeshwar, Raipur to Jagdalpur, Dehradun to Nainital, Mount Abu to Jaipur and Sri Nagar to Leh were covered in the test.
And Railway routes between Allahabad to Gorakhpur, Delhi to Mumbai and Jabalpur to Singrauli were covered.
An independent agency was recruited for this study.
2G, 3G or 4G network coverage of Airel, Vodafone-Idea and BSNL failed to pass the minimum benchmark score for call drops, and this is indeed a major embarrassment for them.
Only Jio was able to pass this test.
In September when PM Modi faced call drop issues, he had asked DoT and TRAI to immediate steps. A person familiar with this said, “The PM said there is an urgent need to find a solution to the problem faced by aggrieved consumers.”
But it seems there has been no major improvement.
