BSNL Offers 700GB Data At Rs 699; Tata Sky Broadband Offers 100Mbps Plans
Jio has unleashed a revolution in broadband market in India. BSNL and Tata are latest to join it.
Jio GigaFiber is finally here, and broadband companies from around the country are all geared up to take on the giant Reliance Jio. From Airtel to BSNL to ACT, all companies are now offering unlimited internet at cheaper prices to compete against Jio GigaFiber.
Also, the leader in the DTH segment, Tata Sky has launched its own broadband service owing to Jio’s entry into the Direct-To-Home category.
Surprisingly, state-owned BSNL has now pushed its limits to offer a whopping 700GB of data at less than Re 1 per GB in its latest plan. The Rs 699 BSNL broadband plan will now come with 700GB of data instead of previous 100GB FUP.

700GB Data At Rs 699: Less Than Re 1 Per GB
BSNL is throwing away a huge amount of data with its revamped 699 broadband plan. The same previously offered a FUP of 100GB of data at 10Mbps speeds. The 699 BSNL plan has now been revised, and it will offer a massive upgrade with a FUP limit of 700GB. The speed has been increased as well to 20Mbps.
Also, the 699 BSNL broadband plan is an unlimited plan. That means, post 700GB of usage, you will get an unlimited usage at a speed of 2Mbps.
The plan is currently available in Chennai and TN circle, and it will be available in other circles in upcoming phases.
Better Than Jio GigaFiber & Airtel Broadband?
The current BSNL 699 plan offers 700GB data at a speed of 20Mbps. The plan would suit most of the basic homes and the public company can successfully put it against Jio GigaFiber and Airtel Broadband. If BSNL can take the plan further to other circles, it can easily penetrate into the market with such offering and benefits.
An unlimited plan offering 700GB data at 20Mbps and then unlimited usage at 2Mbps at just Rs 699 can change BSNL’s fortune in the Indian broadband market.
Tata Sky Broadband vs Jio GigaFiber
As Reliance Jio was bracing up to enter the DTH market soon, the current DTH segment leader Tata Sky surprisingly launched its own broadband service in the country. Backed by its widespread availability and lacs of connections, this will act as a huge advantage for Tata Sky.
The company is planning to launch bundled plans offering broadband and DTH on a single pack.
Tata Sky Broadband can be a huge threat to Jio GigaFiber and Jio GigaTV, as Reliance Jio was planning to work on a similar model. The Mukesh Ambani led company was planning on a DTH-Broadband model to take on other operators. As DTH and broadband is offered separately, the company will offer plans with both broadband and DTH in a single package.
But, with Tata Sky launching its own broadband service, the company is expected to offer a similar DTH-Broadband package in the future.
