As per the leaks, Oppo R17 can be actually Oneplus 6T.
Oppo has launched a new R handset called Oppo R17. But what’s more interesting is that the Oppo R17 surprisingly is very similar to the concept model of OnePlus 6T.
Oppo and OnePlus, the sister companies of Chinese technology major BBK Electronics is known to share similar models.
Going back to the past, OnePlus 5T was a copy of Oppo R11, and both the smartphones shared a lot in common. Similarly, the Oppo R17 is now being speculated to be the upcoming OnePlus 6T.

Oppo R17 vs OnePlus 6T – What’s So Common?
Oppo has launched R17 in China, and the smartphone is the first phone to use the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 and Corning Gorilla 6. The Oppo R17 comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor as well.
The shocking similarity between the Oppo R17 and OnePlus 6T is the water-drop notch. The concept model of OnePlus 6T also has a water-drop notch and an in-display fingerprint sensor. OnePlus copied the Oppo R11 body last year for OnePlus 5T, and now it seems that the company will be taking up the Oppo R17 design language for OnePlus 6T.
So, we highly doubt that OnePlus 6T is going to be an Oppo R17 copy.
OnePlus 6T & Oppo R17 – What’s The Mystery?
Oppo and OnePlus are sister companies under a single parent company, BBK Electronics. Just like Oppo comes with a new R series handset every six months, OnePlus also launches a new phone in every five to six months, and we are expecting that OnePlus will do a 5T with OnePlus 6T again.
If we look back, the R series Oppo smartphones and OnePlus smartphones come with very-similar design languages.
OnePlus 6T is going to be the Oppo R17 lookalike, and the upcoming OnePlus flagship will come with a water-drop notch at the top with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Though, some reports suggest that OnePlus may stick to it’s rear-mounted physical fingerprint scanner for OnePlus 6T.
OnePlus 6T Pricing | OnePlus 6T Price in India
The Oppo R17 would has been launched in China at a price of 3499 Yuan (around Rs 35,400). The Oppo R17 be available in China from August 30, and we don’t think the company will launch the device in India. Coming to OnePlus 6T, the device will launch at a similar price point as OnePlus 6.
If the company will follow its past pricing trends, OnePlus 6T will cost not more than the current OnePlus 6 models.
OnePlus 6T Variants | OnePlus 6T Color Options
The OP 6T will come in an Oppo R17 body, but the device will have better internals and improved specifications. Oppo R17 has been launched in two colors options – Twilight Blue and Starry Purple. But, OnePlus 6T will come with its standard set of colors – Midnight Black, Mirror Black, and Silky White.
OnePlus 6T will also have similar storage variables like its predecessor OnePlus 6 – 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.
OnePlus 6T Global Launch | OnePlus 6T Launch in India
T-Mobile, the US carrier has partnered with OnePlus for OnePlus 6T. The carrier has leaked that the smartphone will launch in October with exclusive launch plans. OnePlus will be launching a specific version of the OnePlus 6T optimized for the T-Mobile’s network in the US.
In India, OnePlus 6T is expected to launch sometime in October, just after its global launch.
